I was homeless in the above picture
Sixteen years ago I was homeless, lost inside at age 28 with dreams of being an author. Ninety eight percent of family and friends laughed in my face and said that I wasn't smart enough to write a book, ridiculed me and called me names. In silence I wrote my heart out with nothing to lose.
Nearly twelve years and fourteen books later, the below award from Senator Kennedy let's me know that when you move in silence, despite the opposition, your success is the best form of revenge. They're NOT laughing anymore. Stale mate. I win. By remaining humble.
