Part Twenty-Five: The Argument

L: you ok?

J: yeah why wouldn't I be?

L: you didn't seem so happy to see Tyler....

J: it's not that I don't want to see him it's just I didn't want to see him tonight.

L: well we will have plenty of dates and you made this one so perfect. Why not enjoy these beautiful flowers with your favourite people?

J: how do you do that?

L: what?

J: not be annoyed that they are here.

L: well I was surprised... but I've gotten really good at understanding and remember that the only thing we can control is our own actions. Getting annoyed and upset only effects us not them.

J: can I yell at them for being here and kick them out so that we can cuddle and watch our movie?

L: we can't do that

J: you're no fun. Whatever let's go back to these blockers.

She laughed and walks back towards the backyard

J: it's ok I think you have a crush on me so I'll let it slide

L: wow a crush? Me??? Neverrrr

I can tell she's joking to make me feel better and it was working.

We get back to the backyard and Lucy walks over to Jess and plays with Billie

I walk over to Tyler.

J: so Kate Tyler you guys want a drink?

Tyler: you mean that drink you were too busy for before?

J: if you don't want one that fine too

Jordie: well I'll take a beer and I'm sure Tyler would like one too

J: Kate?

Kate: no I'm ok

J: ok

I walk back into the house where Lucy and Jess have moved to since I'm sure Billie is tired being that it's like 8pm

J: hey

Jess: shhhhhhhh she's sleeping

I whisper

J: sorry

and walked over to the fridge to grab the beers

Jess walks over to kitchen as Lucy places Billie into the crib I have in the living room

Jess: she's really good with her

J: yeah?

Jess: Billie seems to lover her. Took her like 2 seconds to get her to bed

J: shes something.

Jess: sooo you did this all for her?

I knew where Jess was going. I usually didn't try this hard for anyone. I didn't even try for Lucy. It really just came to me and I did it. No second thoughts

J: yeah I guess

Jess: she's a good one. Hold on brother.

J: I'm trying. You guys make it hard though

Jess: well if she's worth it you'll keep fighting. I mean you didn't make it easy for jordie to keep me

J: I guess you're right. I'm going to bring these out for the guys. Thanks Jess

I walk back out and hand the boys their beers.

Tyler: so how much did this cost you?

J: what?
