Why do we put numbers
into days only to watch
them pass quickly into
a pace we cannot catch?
Why do we ascribe worth
to things not meant
for thought and
for feelings lent?
Why do we put numbers
into how a soul
could hold back the
desire to become whole?
Why do we say one thing
is more worth than the other
just because it has
the higher number?
