10 - Pack Representatives

Soobin: Hi, I tried to call but the line was busy. Are we still set for our 1:00 PM meeting today?

A silent curse escapes from under your breath when you glance at the clock. You had only used the excuse of running late for a meeting to leave the horrid conversion with your mother. But it looks like karma came back to bite you on your ass for lying because now you're actually running late.

"Hey, Siri," you call out, impatiently waiting for the two-toned ring to signify that the artificial intelligence-based voice assistant is listening. "Please call Choi Soobin."

"Calling Choi Soobin" she repeats before the familiar ringing reverberates through your car.

"Y/N?" the young lawyer asks just as the line connects.

"Hi, Mr. Choi," you greet sheepishly. "Sorry for missing your call earlier! I'm currently driving right now so I'm not exactly in the position to be glancing at my phone. Plus, you called right when my mother and I were in a terribly long phone conversation-" you ramble.

"It's alright, Y/N," the young lawyer chuckles in amusement as he can clearly hear in your tone how flustered you're suddenly feeling. "And please, call me Soobin. Each time you call me Mr. Choi, I think of my dad and I can promise you I'm not that old yet."

"Ah, sorry about that, Mr. Ch-" you begin to apologize, but you quickly catch yourself. "Sorry about that, Soobin."

"That's better," he laughs. "So, are we still on for our meeting?"

"Yes! I'm actually heading over right now," you nod even though he can't see you.

"Oh, already? It won't be one o'clock for another hour and a half," Soobin asks confusedly.

"Ah, you see, about that," you hum with a small smile pulling on your lips. "I'm making a quick pit stop before our meeting, so I should be right on time."

"Is that so?" the young lawyer hums, clearly intrigued.

"Indeed," you giggle. "In fact, I'm turning into the parking lot right now so I'm going to have to hang up soon."

"Okay, then I'll let you get to it and I'll see you in a bit," Soobin responds.

"See you soon, Soobin," you smile before ending the call.

When your car comes to a complete stop, you glance in your rearview mirror to check your appearance one final time before stepping out and taking in a breath of fresh air. You subconsciously begin to count the seconds in your mind as you wait to hear a familiar sound.

"Cubs!" Namjoon's powerful voice booms through the foliage right on time. "We talked about this last time."

"Y/N!" Taehyung calls out happily as he sprints towards you, full speed, in his human form. A smile instantly graces your lips when you notice him running towards you with an excited boxy grin. But before the tiger hybrid can reach you for his embrace, a blur of black fur outruns him and reaches you a few seconds before.

Instead of pouncing on you, like Taehyung did last time you visited, the youngest of the pack runs happy circles around while subtly brushing his side up against your legs.

"Hi, Jungkook," you giggle happily before squatting down to give the panther hybrid some head pats and ear scratches.

Just as Taehyung catches up to the two of you, Jungkook shifts his body into a position that blocks the older male from hugging you.
