"Hey, Eir," he greeted, "nice morning. I'm here to pick up Levy and Sherry?"

"Good morning, Mest, give them a second," Eir said, sitting down and pouring himself a cup of coffee. "Coffee? We have plenty of creamer and sugar."

"Ah no, I couldn't possibly impose--"

He's abruptly interrupted by a loud shattering noise, a scream, and a harried, "oops! Sorry, Bicks," in the distance.

Mest deflated, "--on second thought, I'll be happy to have some coffee, thanks."

Mest Gryder was one of the many students in magic school that joined for the education, and then retired to become mercenaries. He didn't intend to join Fairy Tail at all-- at least, not until he found Eir's camping spot one night and got roped into helping the man build a fire.

Eir did not know how to build a fire.

Mest did, though, it was in the curriculum.

And then Mest was roped into making dinner, and then breakfast, and before he knew it, he was roped into the guild and roped into baking Fridays with the Fairy Tail menaces.

After being roped into becoming a full-fledged member of Fairy Tail, he took on an internship at magic school as a teacher and now watches over Levy and Sherry in their dorm lifestyle.

The year is X777, and Eir is finally eighteen.

The girls are moving into their second year of magic schooling, Laxus is hurriedly rising up the ranks of mages in Fiore, and the Eir Legion is as lively as ever.

The kids that were in other guilds continue their routines, albeit now with an extra piece of jewellery that dictated their extra allegiance to Eir in particular.

This was how their life went now.

"Laxus is sixteen. Karen and Bickslow are fifteen, and Bacchus and Mest are fourteen. Ren is thirteen, one year older than Erza. Then Cana, Gray, Yuka, and Toby turn eleven this year? And Levy and Sherry are the youngest."

"I'm surprised you remember that so well."

"Well, I do confuse who is older between Erza and Cana sometimes, because Erza is so little, but it's just a matter of getting used to it."

Eir walked through the city with Enno, the barmaiden of Fairy Tail. He carried her groceries with his right arm, keeping his free left arm on his sword, just in case. He glared at every man that made eyes on her-- because she was dressed in her usual dancer garb, but he did not like any of those gazes when she wasn't being thrown money for it.

His dark wrist brace, an addition that was necessary after his battle with Jura, stood out against his white jacket and pale skin.

Enno chuckled at that. "Our little Eir's all big and starting a huge family now, eh?" she teased. "I almost feel old now!"

Eir scoffed. "As you should not," he said. "I would like to ask you, for the third time, to reconsider marrying that bum of a man we call Macao."

"Awh, don't be so mean to him. He's a sweet man, you know?"

"I say this with all the love in my heart, I object to this marriage."
