Finding Who I Am

The pathway to the light is a long way
through the time and space in this distance paved
How can we know what is on the other side?
a portal to escape ourselves from this lie
My ember can only burn as long as I can see
I deny this dream to only just be imaginary
Listening to the dumb voices that project
helps me filter out what I value from what is left
The chamber of secrets cannot stay beneath
it will soon emerge from its nether deep
Upon opening new doors and windows out there
a spark of brilliance enlightens me to dare
New beginnings start humbly in our abode
we hop on the dragon that they have once rode
These questions that linger will soon receive answers
like, how is there a way that we can beat cancer?
I am inspired to do my part in this book
as I read theirs too, from my tight-knit nook
How infinite and amazing these potentials are
to become something more, a dazzling star
Finding who I am takes a lot of time to grow
with the colors we share that never cease to flow
We chant these names as a loud call
to signal more that follows in its all
this symbol is so powerful in times of distress
beauty is found despite the ugliness
Our geometry with shapes that dance its display
are such a gorgeous sight, in this good day
I gently carry the sword along with me in these travels
taming each beast as I fight in these battles
There is so much more to see as we continue
picking each other up when we feel blue
My heart beats so fast when I am with my love
A pretty angel, a graceful dove
Where we are going, where we have been
there is no denying the journey we are in
The year that is now is another step onward
to lend a hand as we link up much more
We evolve through these many moments spared
my family loves each other, we really do care
To be strong and confident amidst the hate
is such a daunting task, but we are so great
this force that lays inside is a bright spirit lamp
to move us faster, as we jump off the ramp
our soar is played out in slow motion
and then we land with wounds, healed with a potion
We are elegant butterflies and drilling bees
such powers we hold helps us feel free
I head back home after a long, busy day
as I take a rest and think about this play
Our worldviews are subjective and ambiguous
but this rainbow is a sight so splendid
I hope a lost person finds their way home
after a while searching for that place so chrome
I guess until next time we meet again soon,
may tomorrow be better than tonight's full moon...
