Bucky POV

I was in my living room when the phone rang. I looked at the caller ID only to see that it was none other than Sam Wilson, new Captain America and leader of The Avengers.

"Hey, man. What's going on?"

"Got a problem. A very... mischievous problem. Need all hands on deck."

"I'll be right there." I said quickly, hanging up. I grabbed my jacket and baseball cap and headed out the door. I got on my motorcycle and headed towards the compound.

When I walked in, I found Clint, Sam, Strange, and Rhodes standing in the living room with serious looks on their faces.

"What's going on?" I asked, confused.

"Today, a woman broke into the compound and tried to make off with some top secret documents, all of them concerning Loki." Sam said.

"And you're not gonna believe this." Clint said with a disbelieving look on his face.

"She says she is Loki. Bruce ran some blood against an old sample and...it is Loki, or at least a variant of him." Strange said, looking very bewildered.

"Hold up. Loki died and came back to life as a chick? Am I hearing this right?" I said, unable to believe my ears.

"You're hearing it right, alright. DNA match says it's Loki, and get this, the female variant still has male chromosomes, which lead to an exact match." Bruce said, walking in to the room.

"What exactly was in those files?" I asked.

"Information about Loki, his abilities, his personality profile, and--" Sam stops talking mid-sentence, his eyes widening. "Oh, shit. She grabbed the infinity stone files, too! The files with the location of each stone! She was alone with these for thirty minutes before we found her hiding place!"

"What do you wanna bet that's what she was looking for?" I said.

I noticed a laptop on the counter with a live feed of the interrogation room running.

"You can't keep me in here forever, you know? Perhaps you've forgotten about me after all these years, but I am Loki Luafeydottir, Princess of Jöttünheim and goddess of mischief! I am not one to be kept in chains, locked away like an animal!"

"She definitely reminds me of Loki." Clint said with an eye roll. I looked back at the screen and saw that she was trying to use her powers.

"Her magic won't work in there, right?" I said.

"I cast a spell over her so that her magic would be sealed away for a time."

"How long of a time?"

Suddenly, the lights flickered and the building shook. I looked back at the screen and saw Loki had broken her chains and was creating a huge ball of energy between her hands.

"We have to get out of here!" Strange yelled. "NOW!"

Before we could even get close to the exit, the ball exploded. I vaguely remember yelling Sam's name as I threw my body over his like a shield.

I woke up in a pile of rubble, Sam under me.

"You okay?" I asked, concerned.

"Yeah. You?"

My back hurt like hell, my legs felt broken, and my real arm was definitely broken.

"I'm good as long as you are." I said warmly before leaning in and kissing him.
