things were gradually going well between y/n and giyuu . they were behaving more or less like a couple . y/n could feel herself fall inlove with giyuu more and more as the day went by . or so she thought , it been so long since she fell inlove with someone new. she almost didn't remember the feel anymore . giyuu was patient . he never rushed y/n into telling or doing anything .

" giyuuu " y/n called out in a singing voice , the male was currently polishing his sword . making sure it was as good as new before he was satisfied . " what " he replied , attention still on his now shiny weapon . " do you want to go out today ? " y/n looked away after asking , hiding her flustered face away from him . " where . " " hmm... where would you like to go ? "

" star gazing . " y/n never thought giyuu would be into these type of things . he just didn't seem like he would be interested . " since when are you interested in those things ? " she tilt her head slightly waiting for an answer . " it sounds... romantic . " y/n's lips formed as 'o' . so it was like a ... date ?

" well then , be ready at 7pm . " she smiled , rushing out of giyuu's sight . she mentally screamed . she couldn't wait . but she was scared she might make things awkward for them . although she has been to many dates , non of them was actually serious . the thought of going for a real date made her heart go wild . she didn't know what to expect . with that she mentally went to prepare herself even though it was at 7 .

" y/n . are you done . " giyuu has been waiting for 5 minutes now . " yep . " she walked out of the bathroom with her hair pinned up into a bun by one of those hair chopsticks that had a few gem dangling off it . giyuu couldn't help but be immersed by her beautiful . he secretly checked her out , trying to not make it obvious . " are you done staring tomioka . " y/n raised a brow . giyuu was caught off guard . he tried to deny it . " whatever , lets go . " y/n grabbed his arm dragging him towards the city area where there would be the best view for them .

the sky was already dark , they headed towards a cliff that overlooked the trees . the night sky was full exposed to them . they settled down on the ground . the smell of the fresh grass became stronger as they sat beside each other , facing the star filled sky . they were embraced by a comfortable silence . it was each other's presence that mattered at this moment .

" hey giyuu ... do you remember how we knew each other ? " y/n blurted . " you came up to me when i first joined the hashira . " y/n laughed " because you looked lonely . "

flashback ;

" hey , can i sit here ? " giyuu didn't say anything but nodded . y/n made herself comfortable beside him . " you are new here right ? im y/n " she gave him a friendly grin as she reached out her hand to him for a handshake . giyuu stared at her , his mouth was ajar . it has been a week since giyuu joined the hashiras but no one came up to him at all . y/n was the first person to do so . her [ h/l ] [h/c] hair that covered her ears , her sweet smile and her [e/c] orbs glowed in anticipation . his heart was already screaming ' his type ' .

" uh , im sorry if i made you uncomfortable . " y/n was about to take her hand back when giyuu grabbed onto it , returning the handshake . " no . im tomioka giyuu . " right off the bat , y/n knew he wasn't good at socialising . he was more of an introvert . " i hope we can get along and be friends " y/n sounded excited . she has never really been friends with an introvert . she was more of the opposite herself .

but she was going to change that today and this was the perfect opportunity to do so . giyuu looked at her with love in his eyes . he never had friends growing up . apart from sabito , his only friend who sacrificed his life to save him . from then now , he was afraid to get attached to someone else . he didn't want the same thing that happened to sabito to happen again . he didn't want to go through the same pain .

everything changed when he say y/n . he couldn't help but to feel this way towards her . even though they just got to know each other , he could already feel himself slowly getting attached to her . " y/n , there you are , i was looking for you . " obanai walked towards them , panting as if he had just ran an entire mile . " obanaiii " giyuu noticed how her eyes lit up in joy when obanai was here .

" y/n , who is that . " obanai shot giyuu a dirty look , his protective instinct came in place . " oh , hes giyuu , remember how oyakata sama said there is a new hashira ?... giyuu , this is obanai . hes my boyfriend . " she introduced them to one another . giyuu felt his heart break into pieces . ' seems like she already have a significant other ... ' he thought , feeling his hoped and dreams slowly shadowed behind him .

" y/n , let go . " by the look of obanai , giyuu could already tell obanai wasn't impressed . obanai didn't want y/n getting near him . " see you later giyuu . " y/n bid her goodbye as she walked away hand in hand with obanai .

" i still remember the look obanai gave me . " giyuu scoffed . " he looked like he was about to snap your head off " she smiled at the memories . it was crazy how much things can change throughout the year . " thank you . " y/n softly said . giyuu was confused regrading why she suddenly thanked him . " for everything you've done for me . " even a simple thank you from her , made his heart melt . it made his body tingle . he was so inlove with her . giyuu's gaze was fixed at the scenery above him .

just then , giyuu felt her lips pressed on his cheeks . his eyes widened . he froze on the spot as she whispered into his ears .

" i love you , giyuu. "
