⚠️ TW : Mentions of period blood and staining⚠️

Y/n's POV:

The sound of birds chirping was what awoke me that morning. I wasn't used to it at home because my father and I used to live in a very busy city miles away from nature before we moved in my second year, so the new noise kind of annoyed me when I first got here. I finally came to realise how beautiful it sounded. I now understood what people ment when they said how they loved it.

I think because of my years of self doubt and numbness, I wasn't able to appreciate the small things in life anymore. Like the sound of birds chirping, or the warmth of the sun every morning. And I think it helped that I did now. It helped calm me.

I shifted out of bed slightly to get up, when I suddenly felt something rather sticky on my pajama bottoms and the sheets of the bed. I instantly knew what it was and muttered a chorus of shit's. I checked the bed sheets to hope it wasn't what I thought it was and that it was hopefully just sweat, but I was painfully wrong.

I suddenly heard Percy shift in his bed and start to wake up, so I guess my sudden morning panic wasn't exactly silent. I hurried to cover the sheets with the duvet and myself with a red blanket just in time for Percy to pop his head up out of bed and start to get up.

He gave me a rather confused look and raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong?"

"No uh- nothing! Nothing I've just got to go take a shower, bye bye!" I stuttered and ran to the bathroom but not before hurrily grabbing a towel and a spare change of clothes.

Oh my God what is wrong with me?! I asked myself.

I tried to now think about it as much as to not ponder on my embarrassment but the feeling was still very much there. I took everything off and got into the shower, running it to the highest temperature I could bare and grabbed a bottle of body wash.

Percy's POV ~ betcha didn't see that coming!

After Y/n ran to the showers I instantly knew something was wrong. I slowly walked over to the bed to see what it was, thankful my roommates where such heavy sleepers.

I pulled the duvet off from hiding the sheets and I suddenly saw a small stain of still noticeable blood on the red sheets.

I was surprised, but not discusted. After all, I had to help teach Ginny how to get stains out off the bed when she was too embarrassed to tell mum she had gotten her period, knowing what a crazy fuss she would make about it.

I ripped off the stained sheets and wrapped them up as to not get blood on the carpet or anything else and walked to the shared laundry room. Glad no-one else was there, I locked the door and applied stain remover on the stains and put it threw a deep cleaning wash.

I unlocked the door when I was finished and walked back to my dormatrie and putting down clean sheets on her bed along with some of the spare chocolate frogs I had from our last Hogsmede trip.

I knew she was still embarrassed however, and decided not to bring it up unless she mentioned it herself. I layed back down on my bed and pulled out a book and started reading.

Back to ~ Y/n's POV

I managed to clean myself off and quickly dried myself, praying not to get blood on the floor, and put on a pad on before the rest of my clothes. I wrapped my blood stained clothes into my towel to hide the stains when I walked back out to clean them in the laundry room.

When I walked out, I was surprised to find my dirty sheets had been replaced with clean, black ones and some chocolate frogs where on my pillow. I was shocked and looked to find Percy sitting on his bed reading a book silently.

"Uh... Did you clean my sheats for me?" I asked him rather shyly.

"Yeah I did. I hope they're comfortable."

"You didn't have to do that you know."

He smiled. "I know you can't control it, it's not like you want to bleed every month and you shouldn't be embarrassed. You're not the only girl here with one. Besides, who do you think is the one who cleans Ginny's sheets when she is too busy? Fred?" He chuckled.

I giggled. "Thank you, seriously, for being so understanding and all. If it where Fred or Lee they would have freaked!"

I laughed. Happy tears started to form in my eyes and I smiled so hard my cheeks hurt but I didn't care. I wrapped him into a hug and cried a little harder.

"Woah, are you crying? Please tell me it's happy tears." He asked, worried.

"It's happy tears, I promise. Just...thank you. For letting me stay here, for looking after me, for hugging me when I cry for everything."

"Of course. I would never let anything happen to you."
