Underneath my skin is a war of sunshine and shadows about to begin,
I'm fighting the darkness of my mind,
Trying to piece together the fragments that try and unwind.
It's a war of fire and water,
A tug-of-war,
One minute strength,
the other tears.
From the minute I wake up,
To the second I go to sleep,
I'm fighting the shadows,
That want to drag me deep.
There are monsters in my psyche,
There's a war of blades and light,
Is it any wonder I'm exhausted,
At the end of every night?
