Victorias pov|

I looked out the window of my car as I was stuck in traffic on my way to my new apartment. My car was full of clothes and furniture. It was going to take me forever to set my new apartment up by myself.

Im far from my family in upstate New York and the city is going to be a big change for me.  But i'm excited to start my new life here.

--

I was finally in the city, I watched as hundreds maybe thousands of people  scurried across the streets. I was fascinated by all the bright lights and tall buildings. It was a lot different than home. At home there were trees and mountains everywhere.

I had no idea where my apartment building is. I pulled out my phone and turned on my maps. My apartment was above a starbucks. I freaked out just like any other basic white girl would.

I reached my apartment building and got out of my car into the cold new york air. I ruffled around in my purse to find my key to my house and walked up the stairs in search of apt. 14. Once I found it, it all finally hit me. This is MY apartment, I'm living by myself, and i'm finally an adult. I entered my apartment and looked around. It was a two bedroom. The living room was big with a huge window with a view of the city. The kitchen was small but reasonable. And the bedrooms were fairly big with the same big window like the living room.

I went down to my car and starting pulling stuff out. The moving truck would be here soon with my bed and couches and stuff. I picked up a box and walked about the stairs, by the last step i was out of breath. I really need to work out more or something because i shouldnt be out of breath after like 15 steps.

I grabbed a few others stuff and brought it up until i was exhausted. I figured i'd just finish the rest later and unpack this stuff first.

I shut the door, through on some sweatpants and a hoodie, and turned the heating up. As i unpacked i thought about all the cool opportunities i had here and a huge smile appeared on my face.

There was a knock on my door, it was the moving truck guys. They offered to help bring the stuff in and i was so glad they did. Once my bed and couches and coffee tables were in my apartment, it started to feel "homey."

"Thank you so much for your help, it really means a lot." I shook the moving guys hands.

"You're welcome, i hope you enjoy it here." They smiled and headed out the door.

My apartment was half unpacked and i was too lazy to continue the rest. I went through the boxes and found my blankets and comforters and threw them on my bed along with myself. I curled up in bed and shut my eyes.

I was awakened by loud thumps and laughs in the apartment above me. It sounded like a bunch of boys.

I got out of bed and went to the kitchen to get something to eat and then remembered.. I have no food.

I put on some boots along with my sweatpants, hoodie, and beanie and headed out the door.

I decided I'd go to starbucks and get hot chocolate and an old fashioned donut.

I sat down at a table with my food and drink when i noticed a help wanted sign. I quickly shot up and went to question someone who worked there about it.

"Hi, um yeah. I noticed a help wanted sign and I'm interested." I said.

The short old guy behind the register flashed a smile and gave me an application. "Here sweetheart."

I sat back down at my table and starting filling in the application.

Name: Victoria Lynn May
DOB: May 2nd, 1996
Address: 6789 apt. 014

I realized i had no experience. I went back to the old guy at the register. He told me that if i get the job, theyll train me. I gave him my application, finished up my drink and donut and headed back to my apartment.

As i walked up the stairs i was scrolling through twitter and i ran into a tall guy with blonde hair.

"Oh my god, im so sorry, i wasn-" i was cut off.

"It's okay!" He said letting out a small laugh. "Do you live here? Ive never seen you around before."

He had a strong Australian accent.

"I actually just moved in." I informed him.

"Ah, thats cool. Apt. 14?" He asked.

"Yeah, actually." I smiled.

"Me and my friends live right above that apartment!" He said with a huge smile on his face.

And then i remembered how i woke up to loud thuds in the apartment above.

"How many of your friends live up there?" I chuckled.

"Just me, Calum, Ash, and Michael." He said.

"Luke!!!" A voice called from upstairs, another Australian accent.

"I better go." He said shaking my hand. "Oh. I'm Luke by the way."

"Victoria." I said letting out a little giggle.

He smiled and ran up the stairs.
