A Moonlit pond, its surface serene...

Yet currents of sorrow flow unseen.

"ALIS!! ALIS! ALIS!!", chorused John, Jake, Tanner, Ashlynn, Albert, Petal, Ronin, and Ralph.

Alishia was competing with Maverick in a running race during a free session.

She smiled by seeing her friends cheering for her.

"I can beat her with my eyes closed", boasted Maverick.

"Yeah right... ", countered Alishia, "I'd like to see you try"

"Ready, Get Set...", hollered Mike, "GO!!!!"

Both skedaddled across the field.

Alishia, at first lagged behind Maverick. She started slow, to preserve her energy. While doing so, she felt the gentle breeze across her face.

The wind blew her short brown hair away from her forehead.

After some time, she looked at Maverick.

His speed had reduced, he was beginning to feel tired.

Alishia took advantage of this and increased her speed. She soon caught up with Maverick. Then she sprinted ahead of him.

She reached the finish line. Followed by a tramping Maverick.

" YAYYY!!!!", cheered her friends.

"A-and Alishia wins the race!", chimed Mike.

She gave Mike a high-five.

She then returned to herclasses

After Business Management class she went to her locker to take her books for Robotics's next class. Just then, she was greeted by the junior soccer team's captain, Harry.

"I will go straight to the point", stated Harry, " We have a match. Four weeks from today. Team meeting's at five, tomorrow."

"Got it. I'll be there", answered Alishia.

"WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING!?"

"Please... leave me alone!!"

Voices echoed from a corner.

Alishia followed the noise and found three boys gathered around a weeping girl. A boy had clasped her wrists and she was struggling to slip away from his grip.

"Hey, Nora... What were you saying about me again?"

"Nothing... please... I-I'm sorry Joe...", wailed Nora.

He twisted her wrist.

Nora cried with pain.

Alishia stepped forward.

Anger stirred within her.

"Get.Away.From.Her", fumed Alishia.

All of the boys turned towards her.

Joe snorted. "So what?"

Alishia clenched her fists. She could feel her rage pulsing through her veins.

A boy approached her.

She kicked his gut.

He fell to the ground. Then he tried to grab her feet. Alishia jumped.

Joe's expression changed to dismay.

Miss Gwen, the vice principal was standing behind Alishia.

"Joe.Max. And Noah. To the principal's office. NOW!", hollered miss Gwen.

Alishia turned to look at her with a jerk.

"Ma'am! I-I-", she faltered.

"It's okay Miss Daffron. I know you were trying to protect Nora. But fighting in the hallways can't be tolerated. I'm excusing you; this time", Miss Gwen went on," Good Heavens, your older brother, Mr Aisenbrey reported to me..."

Aaron Aisenbrey walked in.

Alishia lowered her head.

Miss Gwen walked over to Nora and scrutinised the injuries on her wrist. "You poor thing...", she ushered her to the medical room.

"Sherry...", spoke Aaron.

"I know I should control my anger, but...b-but-", croaked Alishia, her voice breaking.

Aaron' expression softened.

Alishia burst into tears.

"I know... it's about your past, isn't it?"

Alishia hugged her brother.

"I'm over it. But whenever I see something like that happening to another girl, I just...", Alishia sniffed.

Aaron separated her and wiped her tears.

"Understood. But you're forgetting one important thing", comforted Aaron.

"What?"

"My little Sherry is stronger than all those things"

Alishia smiled.

Aaron pulled her cheek. "Sherry bear"

She laughed. "Don't call me that in public...plus, I'm 18 now", stated Alishia, although she loved being called so.

"Not matter how old you are, you'll always be my little Sherry-bear"

Aaron hugged his little sister.

"Now," spoke Aaron, "Time for class"

"Yeah...", replied Alishia.

She headed towards Robotics class.
