As Renesmaee and Jacob arrived back home with dinner secured, they slowed their steps, almost silencing them. Jacob crowched once more and allowed Renesmaee to hop off of his back.
With Renesmaee now off of him, Jacob was free to return to his human form. Doing so, he picked up the deer that had been the catch of the day, and he threw it over his shoulder. They both made their way to the door, but before going inside, Renesmaee checked her appearance to make sure that she had not left any residue from the killing.
After checking herself, her and Jacob went inside. Little did they know that her mother and father were awaiting her return.
