Edward still standing there with his icy stare, looked at his daughter and Jacob. "So how did the hunt go?" He asked Renesmaee with his slow voice.

Renesmaee looked at her dad in confusion. "You... aren't mad?" She asked.

"I'm a little mad, but not by much. I know you can hunt and am proud. But your mother is cross, and I must stand by her word for now. "

Edward turned his head to Jacob at this time. "You have done well to train her and keep her safe. Next time, tell me when you two are going out. I will be sure to cover."

Jacob nodded to Edward, with some confusion. "Dad..." Renesmaee began "If you know I can hunt, then please tell mom that. I mean... I'm 17 already. Most kids learn to hunt at a younger age....So why couldn't I have?" She asked

Edward looked at his daughter "We have restricted you up until now, as a precaution. We still question if the Voltaire will ever return and change their mind of ridding us and the family."

Renesmaee understood this, and what could happen. But even so, she desired to be active in the clan. She desired to be a huntress. And she desired to do things on her own.
