This chapter contains weapons and things.

There will be around five more chapters for this book - no sequel. I'll be working on Take Flight soon enough as well. I'm still waiting on my acceptance to writing school so come May I won't really be able to write too much anymore (seeing as I do get accepted) D:

Also, I started on an original work called Shadows and Storms. Only the prologue is up now, but I'm working on the other chapters as we speak. I have it outlined so I'll have the whole thing up soon enough - please go vote and comment, and it'll be updated soon enough! It'll be a drama/angst book.

Love you guys so much - also. A LITTLE OVER TWO WEEKS UNTIL I MEET PENTATONIX I'M GOING TO CRY

Scott’s POV

Mitch locked the basement door before he came down the stairs and joined the rest of us at the large metal table in the middle of the room. The basement looked like a super industrial warehouse because of its size. It was dark and dreary but it felt private and secluded, like a hideaway broken down factory in the city that we kept our lair in.

“She’s outside. What are we going to do?” Mitch said, looking serious.

“Weapons.” Kevin said and looked to Avi, who nodded in agreement. “Scott, come here.”

I went around the table to follow Kevin down another end of the basement. He led me to a safe and started typing in a code, blocking it from my view. “What’s in there?”

He laughed. “Mitch’s family was rich and he inherited it. When war broke out the last time he made sure we were covered…” He spun the large wheel and it finally clicked and stopped before he started pulling the safe open.

He flicked on the light and stepped inside, me following cautiously behind him. Inside the walls were lined with the most elaborate and strange looking weapons I’ve ever seen. “What...what are these?” I stuttered, making him laugh.

“I couldn’t even tell you what half of them do.” He laughed again and started inside. “I’m a healer, so weapons aren’t really my thing, but we need to protect ourselves one way or another. Come on. Let’s fine you something good…”

I followed him into the room towards the smaller weapons and I made a face. “These are tiny…”

He shot me a look. “Size doesn’t matter, dude.” He took one weapon off of the wall. “She likes it to storm when she’s in battle…this is a taser.”

“Isn’t that dangerous?”

He looked at me like I was joking. “For her it’ll be dangerous. It’ll protect you, the weapon holder – “ He put the strange looking device in my hand. “ – but it’ll be dangerous for anyone standing around. If anyone’s within twenty feet away they’ll get electrocuted so don’t be dumb with it.”

“So I have to get close to her?”

“Not necessarily…come this way.” I followed him down the hall while I heard someone enter the room. I saw Avi coming towards us and he shook his head when he saw what was in my hand. “This is…” He started to talk about a weapon and then caught sight of Avi. “Dude, come on, don’t be like that. Not now. This is serious.”

“You’re giving him a taser?” He asked him. “Seriously?”

Kevin shook his head and Avi went off into the room, letting out a long frustrated sigh as he did. “He needs to lighten up.”

“Maybe I should shock him.”

Kevin laughed quietly to himself before Avi started returning with a large weapon hoisted onto his back. “Here you go, Scott.” He said and handed me over the large weapon, nearly knocking me over.
