The last chapter

Madison

The next few days Christian had been a little distant. He was also very quiet and sad almost.

I didn't ask since I didn't want to push him to tell me. I'll just wait until he comes to me.

As Daniel drove, I couldn't help but wonder where Christian was.

The anticipation tingled in my stomach, mixing with the excitement of my birthday.

Daniel kept stealing glances at me through the rearview mirror, a playful smirk dancing on his lips.

After a while, we pulled up to a quaint little restaurant nestled in a cozy corner of the city.

The soft glow of fairy lights adorned the exterior, casting a warm and inviting ambiance.

Daniel opened the car door for me, and I stepped out, taking in the charming atmosphere.

He offered me his arm again, and together we entered the restaurant.

As we walked in, I saw Christian sitting at a beautifully set table near the window, a gentle smile spreading across his face as he caught sight of me.

My heart fluttered at the sight of him, and I couldn't help but return his smile.

I was speechless, overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness of his gesture.

The table was adorned with flowers, and candles flickering softly, creating a romantic ambiance.

He looked so damn good.

A sense of gratitude washed over me, knowing that Christian had gone through the trouble of planning such a special evening for my birthday.

"You look beautiful." He compliments.

"Thank you." I smile.

We settled into our seats, and the evening unfolded with laughter, good food, and heartfelt conversations.

Christian seemed more like himself, the warmth returning to his demeanor as we enjoyed each other's company.

As the night drew to a close, I couldn't help but feel immense gratitude for the love and care that surrounded me.

With Christian by my side, my birthday turned into a magical evening filled with cherished memories that I would hold dear for years to come.

There was no one else but us.

The covers were lifted from the plates, revealing a delicious spread of my favorite foods – mashed potatoes and steak.

My excitement bubbled over, and I eagerly dug in, savoring each bite as Christian watched with a smile.

Midway through dinner, I noticed a slight tension in Christian's demeanor, his smile faltering ever so slightly.

Concerned, I reached out to touch his hand, meeting his gaze with a gentle expression.

"Is everything alright?" I asked softly, wanting to offer him support.

Christian hesitated for a moment before taking a deep breath, his eyes searching mine with a mix of emotions.

"Fine." he fakes a smile.

We finished our meal in comfortable silence, the air between us filled with an unspoken understanding and connection.

In that moment, all the worries and uncertainties melted away, leaving only the warmth of our love and the promise of a brighter future ahead.

"What's wrong?" I mumbled looking into his eyes.
