Chapter 28 - Peace Inside the Woods

Pagkarating ko, nakapalibot at nagkalat ang mga guards sa bawat sulot ng lugar. Sinulyapan ko rin ang observation room na kita mula dito sa labas. Ang room na iyon ay ginawa para sa mga officials na gustong manood sa mga trainees. May malaking salamin ito mula sa loob na nagagamit nila para makita ang kabuuan ng buong area. While sa labas naman, hindi mo makikita ang mga nasa loob ng kwarto o ang mga tao na nanonood. Bulletproof din ang glass na iyon kaya safe ang panood. Ako kasi imbes na doon ako sa kwartong iyon, I prefer watching them up close. 'Yung tipong makakaeye to eye ko sila. I want to know each one of them. And one of my ways is to look at their eyes. 

"Hey Dash! Saan ka ba nagpunta?" I heard a guy calling someone. Even the girls are yelling for his attention. Tinignan ko naman kung sino 'yung bagong dating and shit paanong kasama siya sa mga magtetest ngayon? 

That guy who helped a girl, he is one of our trainees! Hindi niya ako dapat makilala. Kaya naisip ko na I'll try to blend in with the others muna para hindi niya ako mapansin. 

"Sandali lang." uh-oh too late. Para bang naging bato ang katawan ko nang may humawak sa balikat ko. Tumahimik din ang paligid sa sinabi ng lalaking ito.

"May I see your face?" nalintikan na. Tinake ko lang ang time ko. Then hinawakan ko ang kamay niya at pinilipit ito kasabay ng pagharap ko sa kanya. Mabilis naman akong nakatakbo papasok sa mansyon. Hindi nila ako nagawang habulin dahil sa pag-aalala nila sa Dash na iyon. Looks like he was the idol of their batch.

Ang ending ko tuloy, andito ako sa observation room habang pinagmamasdan sila na nagwawarm-up. Of course, I'm still going to stick with my way kaya pinaayos ko ang mga monitor para makikita ko sila ng sobrang linaw. Kumbaga sa laban ni Pacquiao, live telecast 'to. Nasa tabi ko naman si Sphinx. Kash - Head of Swordmanship Unit 

Brock - Official Trainer and recommended judge by the elders 

Black - Chief of Martial Arts Unit 

Sera - holder of the 'Mighty Valkyrie' title. Valkyries are female reapers assigned for special missions only. Usually the trainees are required to train for about 2 years while Valkyries trained for 4 years, mastering various units. This title proves that the holder is the best of the mentioned department. 

"Ma'am, they are ready. So to brief everything. These graduates need to pass five tests decided and given by the leader. The leader can suggest anything the he or she likes for the flow of the tests. So, what will be your first test for them?" magalang na sambit ni Brock. May edad na ito pero halata pa rin kung gaano kalakas ang mga kasukasuan nito. 

Napaisip naman tuloy ako bigla. Bakit kasi hindi nila maagang sinabi na may ganito edi sana nakapaghanda ako ng mga malulupit na tests. Ano nga ba? "Ah! Remember Xander's fastest and most agressive dog? Release him. We need a hunter like him." sabi ko. 

"Sphinx, carry on this order that I will say. First, Sera, release five members from the Valkyries catergory to allure the men. Next, release King Xander's most agressive dog from his cage. He will be the hunter for today. Then, be sure to surround the area so that no one will be able to escape from their fortunes. Their mission is to find 'peace' inside the woods. They need to find it while being hunted by those dogs and women. Also, set a lot of traps and cameras. Order some of our spies to do the honor for that job. They are allowed to answer anything that comes into their minds but as long as they unfamiliar with the correct answer, they'll stay inside. No more no less." pag-uutos ko sa kanila isa isa. This will be a matter of life and death for them. Kahit na ang totoo ay imposible silang mamatay sa loob. Sa oras kasi na talagang hindi na nila kaya, may nakaready na medics. Naturuan naman na rin ang alagang hayop ni kuya. That dog can't kill. Ngayon, let's see who can find 'peace' while being hunted by that wild dog.

"I see. You are testing their skills, aren't you?" tanong ni Black. 

"Nope. I am testing their hearts and minds. How could they find peace during a test? And I want to know what is the real meaning of peace for them." sagot ko. Wala naman akong doubt na natrain sila ng maayos at sigurado akong walang mintis ang mga kakayahan nila pero I want them to learn a lesson sa bawat test. 

Tests are not worth it if you'll not learn from your mistakes there. They are not deserving enough to be one of us if they will always think of the lust in killing. We didn't train them to kill. We trained them to avoid unnecessary killing. Because after all, everyone demands for peace. 

"Everything is ready." Sphinx declared. 

"Let them begin." tugon ko at nakarinig na ako ng isang putok ng baril. Paalala na umpisa na ng paghahanap. 

Will they be able to find peace?

A/N: Hanapin ang 'Peace'! Sorry po sa matagal na pag-uupdate. Parating na ang hell week that's why. So this is the 28th chapter. Napag-isipan ko po na ibahin ang laman ng chapter na ito dahil sa tingin ko hindi pa malinaw ang whole set up ng pagbabalik ni Alex. Sa 30th chapter, pakiready na po ang mga sarili niyo sa inis at irita. Hindi dahil sa matagal na ud or pangit na ud kundi sa susunod na mangyayari. Medyo mahaba ang examinations part na ito kaya baka imbes na 30th, maging 31st or 32nd chapter. Don't worry I'll try my best na tapusin itong exams nila next chapter.
