She smiled at me and continued on towards the door. I slowly stepped up the front stairs and onto the porch before following the two of them into the house and before heading upstairs, I stopped. "Adalyn," I called to her.

She turned around to face me. "Yeah?"

"Would you mind maybe cleaning up the amniotic fluid that spilled from my body two days ago? I'm going to go put her to bed," I said to her.

She giggled. "Sure thing, Lea. Do you want anything to eat?"

My mouth nearly watered at the sound of it. I had barely eaten anything in the past two days. Hospital food was absolutely disgusting and the moment I put it into my mouth I spit it out. I had been living off of vending machine foods for the past two days, but they didn't really help me much.

"Yes, please. You could make one of those pizzas. I'm dying," I exclaimed.

"Okay, girl. I'll see you back down in a little bit," she told me as she scurried off into the kitchen.

I quickly rushed up the stairs and into Kaelyn's room, a smile coming onto my face; the fact that I was now able to use her room made me incredibly happy. I sat her car seat down on the floor beside her changing table and unbuckled her before taking her into my arms. I laid her down onto her changing table before quickly grabbing a pair of night clothes from her dressers. About five minutes later I had her diaper changed and had her changed into a light purple onesy. I picked her back up and she whined for a couple seconds before settling back down. I smiled and placed her into her crib before draping my mother's quilt over the lower half of her small body. I just still couldn't believe that this precious little thing was mine. .

With one last glance at my beautiful daughter, I hurried out of her room and across the hall to my own. A shower was definitely needed at the moment and I was more than ready to get out of these nasty clothes. Somebody had forgotten to bring me a change of clothes down to the hospital so I was stuck wearing the clothes I had shown up to the hospital in. They were dry from from my water breaking, but they still smelled weird and I wanted them off of my body as quickly as possible.

I basically ran over to my dressers so I could get something to wear. Once I picked out another pair of underwear and a bra, I grabbed another pair of black leggings and a white v-neck shirt before heading into my bathroom. I turned the shower on almost instantly and stripped myself of the disgusting clothes. I tossed them into the hamper and stepped into the warm stream of water. I had almost forgotten what it was like to take a shower. I hadn't exactly had a decent one in two days, so this was everything to me at the moment.

Like they normally always did, my shower lasted about twenty minutes. It was possibly even thirty considering the fact that I washed myself and my hair twice before getting out. I quickly turned off the water and stepped out onto the place mat. I grabbed one of the towels I had laying on the counter and wrapped my hair up in it before grabbing the other one and drying my body off with it. Soon enough, I was dressed and ready to head downstairs to get my food. Hopefully once I was finished, I could sleep. Lord knows I needed it.

Adalyn and Mikaela both sat on the couch watching TV and eating pizza. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a plate before throwing two slices of pizza down onto it. I took an apple juice out of the fridge and headed back out into the living room. Adalyn and Mikaela smiled and me and I returned the gesture before plopping down in between them.

"Are the baby monitors working?" I asked them as I took a bite of my pizza.

"Yes. We hooked them up while you were in the shower just in case we heard her," Mikaela answered me. I had the absolute sweetest friends in the world, and Kaelyn had the absolute the best godmother and aunt a little girl could ask for.

"Thank you guys. I don't know how many times I can thank you," I laughed.

"You're more than welcome, Lea. How are you feeling?" Adalyn asked me.

I bit into my second piece of pizza. "I'm sore as hell and exhausted as fuck. I've never worked so hard in my life, ya'll."

They laughed at me. "Well after you finish that piece, I'd advise you to go and rest. You look like you need it," Adalyn said.

"I plan on it. I've only been down here for about five minutes and I already can't stand what you're watching. What the fuck is a Nacho Libre?" I inquired.

Mikaela snickered. "I have no clue. It was just on and neither of us felt like changing the channel."

I just shook my head and sat my plate down on the coffee table before standing up. "I'll see you guys in the morning. Goodnight. I love you both so much," I chirped as I headed over to the stairs.

"Goodnight, Lea. We love you too," I hear Adalyn call. I just smiled and headed up the stairs.

Instead of heading into my room like I normally had planned to, I found myself wondering into Kaelyn's room. I walked over to the little galaxy projector the Autobots had gotten for her, and switched it on. Almost instantly, millions of stars lit up her bedroom and I smiled before walking over to her crib. I crossed my arms and placed them onto the railing of her crib. I laid my head down on my arms and just stared at my daughter. Never in my life had I felt such an intense amount of love for a single being. Of course I loved Ironhide greatly, but this was a different kind of love. I couldn't exactly describe it with words. All I knew was that I loved the feeling and I wanted nothing more than for Ironhide to be here to experience it as well.

Before the warm liquid had the chance to make its way entirely down my face, I wiped it away and brought my hand down to gently caress the side of Kaelyn's little face. Another whir fell from her newborn lips and I smiled. "Daddy's going to be home soon, Kay. I promise."

I withdrew my hand and sighed before pulling away from her crib. I walked over to her closet and pulled out a large blanket before heading over to the rocking chair on the opposite side of her room. Sleeping on it wasn't going to be all that comfortable, but I didn't want to sleep alone tonight and even though I couldn't exactly sleep with Kaelyn, sleeping near her was just enough comfort for me.

My exhaustion was finally beginning to overwhelm me, and I wrapped myself up in the blanket and closed my eyes, the images of my beautiful daughter and my Autobot mate flowing through my mind. I just couldn't get over the fact that this was what my life was. I had faced so many hardships within the past five years, but I've managed to overcome every single one of them with Ironhide by my side. Of course I still wished that Braelynn could be here to take care of little Kaelyn with me and I wished that my mom and Annabelle could be here as well, along with the rest of my fallen Autobot friends, but no matter what, they would always be in my heart.

I was just so happy with my life at the moment, and nothing and no one could ever and would never change that. I refused to let it happen. Nothing about my life has ever been easy, but I couldn't ask for anything better; this was exactly where I was supposed to be. Despite the danger I've faced in the last five years and the loss that I've dealt with, the smile still came and I would never once think of letting go of any of it. The only thing that could make my life even slightly better would be Ironhide coming home.

What felt like hours later, and it probably was, I heard the soft sound of footsteps coming into the room. I snuggled further into my blankets, too tired to even open my eyes to see who it was. Suddenly, I felt myself-and my blanket-being scooped up into a pair of arms. I didn't know just whose they were though. My eyes refused to open, but I had the slightest feeling as to who it could've been. I could very faintly hear myself say Ironhide's name before the darkness consumed me completely.
