Once dark started to fall, they made camp by an old abandoned ship. They gathered around a fire. y/n was sitting a little far from the fire and shivering from the cold. Newt saw that she was out, so he crawled over to where y/n was seated. He wrapped his arm around her, pulling her into a side hug. She laid her head on his chest. She felt safe and warm in his arms.

"I thought we were supposed to be immune," Minho said to them. "Not all of us, I guess," Aris uttered. "If Winston can get infected, we should assume the rest of us could," Newt told them while looking worried for the safety of his friends. With tears strolling down his face, Frypan said, "I'd never thought I'd say this, but I miss the Glade." Everyone tried to sleep that night, but no one had any luck. So they continue their journey through the hot oasis. Another day had passed, a storm appeared that night. They saw lights in the near distance. They ran towards the lights as lightning started to strike. Once inside the building, they came across those creatures, but they were tied to fences oddly enough.

The creatures tried to attack them but couldn't while being tied up. Then, a voice came from the corner of the room, "I see you've met our crank guard dogs." Everyone turned around quickly. The person walked up to them without being touched by the creatures. "What did you say those things were called?" y/n asked her. "They're called cranks," she responded. The woman took a good look at everyone, "You guys look like crap." Then, gesturing toward the doors she had come through, she said, "Come on, unless you want to stay here with them." They followed her but still tried to be cautious.

"Jorge wants to meet you," the girl said. "Who's Jorge?" y/n asked the girl. "You'll see," she responded. Everyone was curious. The girl made it sound so mysterious. "No one has come out of the Scorch in a long time. So you've just got him curious, and me too," she told them. They looked behind them to see a crowd of people starting to form. "Anyone else starting to get a bad feeling about this place?" Newt asked, being a little worried. "Let's just hear him out and see what he has to say," Thomas told Newt. Thomas didn't seem to be acting very cautious or even worried about their safety.

They climbed up some stairs to see a man sitting in a chair listening to radio calls. "Jorge, they're here," the girl told the man. The man turns around and says, "Do you ever get the feeling the whole world's against you?" Everyone was silent. All you could hear was the sound of thunder. "Three questions. Where did you come from? Where are you going? How can I profit?" Jorge asked them. "We're headed for the mountains. Looking for the Right Arm," y/n uttered. Men started to laugh behind them. "You're looking for a ghost, you mean," he told them. "Question number two, where did you come from?" he asked once again. "That's our business," Minho said. Men came up behind them and grabbed them. The girl scanned the back of their necks. It revealed a symbol of some kind. "You were right," the girl told Jorge. "Right about what? What is she talking about?" y/n asked them. "I'm sorry, Hermano. It looks like you're tagged. You came from WICKED. Which means you're very valuable," Jorge told them. Everyone was confused and scared. No one knew what was about to happen to them.

They were knocked out. When they awoke, they found themselves hanging upside down over a deep hole in the building. "Great plan, Thomas. Just here, what the man has to say. Working out for us," Minho said. "Oh, shut up, Minho! y/n had something to do with this too!" Thomas told Minho. "Leave me out of this!" y/n yelled at Thomas. "Maybe I can reach the rope," Thomas said, working trying to grab the rope. "Enjoying the view?" Jorge asked while walking up to them. "What the bloody hell do you want?" Newt asked Jorge. "That is the question. My men want to sell you back to WICKED. Sometimes life causes them to think small, but I'm not like that. Tell me what you know about the Right Arm." Jorge said to them. "I thought you said they were ghosts," Newt said. "I happen to believe in ghosts. Especially when I hear them chattering on the airwaves, now, you tell me what you know, and maybe we can make a deal," Jorge said while walking over to a lever. "We don't know much," Thomas told him. Jorge pulled the lever a little, and they started to fall a couple of feet. "All right! They're hiding in the mountains. And they attacked WICKED. They got out a bunch of kids. That's it. That's all we know!" y/n yelled. A guy called out from beyond where they could see, "Yo, Jorge. What's going on?" the guy asked, coming into view. "My new friends and I were just getting acquainted. We're done now," Jorge told the guy. "Wait. You're not going to help us?" y/n asked Jorge. "Don't worry, Hermano. We'll get you back to where you belong," he explained.

Jorge and the unknown guy walked out of the room. Jorge had gone back to the room they first met him in. He was packing a bag, and it seemed as though he was planning on leaving this place. "Going somewhere?" the girl asked. "We both are. Pack what you need. Do it quietly," he told her. "Where exactly are we going?" she asked. "It's real, Brenda. These kids are our tickets. The Right Arm can't turn us away. Go now, before anyone sees you," Jorge explained to Brenda.

Back where the gladers were, they were trying to reach the rope to get set free.
