Just like that Maya was wide awake in the middle of the night. "Fuck" she sighed.
This happened a lot. She has never talked about it with anyone but every night she has nightmares about her father, about her childhood, just about the way everything was handled back then.
She is grateful for him. That's is a 100% sure. She didn't win a gold medal because her father was so sweet. No she won it because he pushed her to the ultimate limit. She has to keep thinking that, otherwise she just kept thinking of the nightmares and the way her dad threatened her.
She walks to the living room to get something to drink. "Seriously.. 3 am..are u kidding me" she said to herself knowing she couldn't sleep for the next 2 hours because she is now overthinking everything.
At 4.30 am she is finally tired and falls asleep peacefully , knowing her alarm goes off in an hour.
Carina on the other hand has a long shift at the hospital. She delivered a few baby's, helped a couple of mama's with some calming exercises. Nothing big has happened.
Just when Carina was in trance with her own thoughts, she got interrupted by someone "Hey Carina, are u busy?" She looked up and saw it was Teddy.
"Unfortunately not.. it's so quiet here. No one wants to have a baby right now apparently" they laughed.
"Let's get some breakfast" Teddy said.
And as soon as Carina heard those words she immediately got a concerned look on her face.
"Wow wow wow, you don't have to if you don't want" Teddy laughed.
Carina passed her thoughts aside and replied to Teddy that it was okay to get some breakfast.
But to be fair in Carinas thoughts it wasn't okay to get some breakfast, in her thoughts she was fat, other women had the perfect body compared to here's. She wanted that tho..so badly.. nothing was good enough for her. But gladly when she was with her friends and family, her thoughts where less and less. But when Carina was alone, she couldn't help herself.
"Carina?.. Helloooo... Carinaaaa?"
"Shit.. Sorry" Carina replied to Teddy as she was again completely busy with overthinking everything.
"Where were you?" Teddy laughed at here
"Lets get us some breakfast" Carina said to Teddy completely avoiding the question.
