It was a hobby I enjoyed from when I was young. I felt like myself when I write, so I kept going. Now it's a part of me.

I discovered it back in high school, because my friends were reading stories from the platform. That was in 2012. But I only made an account in 2016, and started writing a year later.

I am proud of all my works, but if I have to choose a favorite, that would be The Paramount Code

I am proud of all my works, but if I have to choose a favorite, that would be The Paramount Code. Mad World was a challenging story to write because of the research it required. But The Paramount Code was on a whole other level of complicated. Just the fact that I managed to finish it and when it won Wattys 2020 made me even more proud of it.

I guess winning Wattys 2019 and 2020. Everything started from that, so those are pretty remarkable memories for me.

Well, they would need to check those first for them to know

Well, they would need to check those first for them to know. But one thing's for sure, they're not your typical stories.

Accept negative critiques

Accept negative critiques. Whether they may be offensive or not, keep it in mind. That's how people are. That's how the industry is. When you present yourself and your work to the reading public, you give them the chance to either praise you or ridicule you. And while you are not at fault for it, we cannot control people. The best thing to do is to prove them wrong. Improve. Give them good stories.

Also, to those who are writing in online platforms, I know it gets tough when you feel like your followers are not increasing and your reads are not improving. That's not okay, really. Deep down, it doesn't feel good. But don't let it stop you from writing. If you let it stop you, then you lose.

And lastly, RESEARCH. I know that it's fiction, but please do not dismiss an error or an inaccuracy and call it fiction just to justify it. Fiction stories are reflections of reality. It's an artistic way of retelling it to people. People are reading your works and are learning from it. If you feed them wrong information and wrong ideas, it wouldn't just reflect your lack of knowledge or laziness to research (which is not an excuse). You would cause misinformation. Aren't books supposed to impart knowledge and info as well? You cannot say the sky is purple when it's blue (unless you're writing fantasy, of course). Anyways, I know you get my point.

This is a difficult one since I don't read a lot of Wattpad stories

This is a difficult one since I don't read a lot of Wattpad stories. But if you want fresh stories, try the ones from underrated writers. You will really see a story's quality if you disregard the hype around it.

For me it's being a part of the community of writers, and being recognized for my work
