11: Katherine's Fear

Katherine's POV

Ilang linggo na ang naka-lipas. Ilang araw nalang rin bago yung kasal namin ni Trey.

Kanina ko pa suot suot yung wedding gown na napili ko. Nakatitig ako sa full length mirror at pinagmamasdan yung sarili ko.

I'm wearing a mermaid wedding gown. Backless ito at may onting cut sa dibdib na nagpapakita ng cleavage ko. May terno rin itong long veil na laced. Simple lang yung gown na napili ko.

"Omg! Ang ganda ganda mo Kathy!!"- Maddy

"Naiinggit ako. Gusto ko na rin ikasal." -Barbie

Napangiti naman ako sa sinabi nila. Abala rin si Trey sa pagpili ng tux niya at sa ibang preparations. Sinabi ko rin na hindi dapat makita ng groom yung gown ng bride. Alam kong kasabihan lang yun pero sumusunod pa rin ako sa tradisyon.

Si Barbie at Maddy naman yung kasama ko mamili ng gown dito sa boutique. Iniwan naman namin ni Trey si Travis sa yaya niya.

Lumapit sakin si Barbie at hinawakan yung kamay ko.

"Hindi talaga ako makapaniwala na ikakasal kana Kathy girl!! Omg. Parang kelan lang nagsusungitan pa kayo ni Trey nung high school tayo, tapos ayaw mo pang umamin na crush mo si Trey." -Barbie

"Oo nga! Tapos tignan mo itong veil ang ganda---"

Biglang napahinto si Maddy nang tinignan yung veil sa likuran ko. Naeamdaman ko naman yung kamay niya sa likod ko na hinahaplos ito.

"Kath, what happened?" Pagtataka ni Maddy.

"Girl, you also have on your shoulders and sa chest. Who did this to you!?" Galit na sabi ni Barbie.

Umiling naman ako.

"W-wala yan. Hindi ko rin napansin---"

"Hindi napansin!? I'm not stupid Kathy girl. This looks so painful. Where the hell did you get these bruises and scratches!?" Pagputol ni Maddy.

Napahinga ako ng malalim.

"H-Hindi naman sinasadya ni Trey." Seryoso kong sabi.

Napahinto kaming tatlo nang biglang may pumasok sa loob ng fitting room. Nanlaki yung mata ko nang makita si Lucas rito.

"Anong ginagawa mo dito? Lucas baka makita ka ni Trey---"

"Mads, Barbie, pwede bang iwan niyo muna kami? Gusto ko lang makausap si Katherine." Pagputol ni Lucas sasasabihin ko.

Bigla namang umalis sina Barbie at Maddy sa loob ng fitting room. Naiwan kaming dalawa ni Lucas.

"Lucas please, delikado kapag nakita ka ni Trey rito." Pagbanta ko.

Napatingin ito sa balikat ko kung saan may bruises. Bumaba rin yung tingin nito sa dibdib ko na may onting bruises rin.

"I can't let you marry that monster, Katherine." Seryosong sabi ni Lucas.

"Lucas---"

"Aren't you aware of what he's doing to you!? Katherine he's out of control. He's abusing you physically. Katherine you what what he is capable of." Pagputol niya pa.

Biglang tumulo yung luha ko dahil sa sinabi niya.

"You don't even know who you're marrying Katherine! You know what, I'm glad that he went this far controlling himself not to kill you or to turn you into a vampire."

Trey would never do that to me. He won't hurt me. He won't turn me into a vampire. He promised me that.

"This is the life I wanted. I choose this because I love him, Lucas. And if you can't accept that then leave! Hindi kita kailangan, Lucas. " Galit kong sabi.

Tumango tango naman ito.

"I get it. You're choosing to be with that monster. I just hope you won't regret any of this." Dagdag nito.

"I won't. " Seryoso kong sabi.

Tumalikod na ito at iniwan akong mag-isa sa fitting room.

Huminga ako ng malalim at pinigilan yung pagtulo ng luha ko.

Kung alam mo lang, Lucas. Takot na takot ako para samin ni Travis.

Tinignan ko yung mga pasa at sugat ko sa salamin.

Trey's POV

"Everything is set and organised. And our honeymoon would be a surprise. You'll love the place where we're going." I said to Katherine.

Napansin kong kanina pa ito tulala at nananahimik. Kanina pa ako nagkukwento tungkol sa mga detalye ng kasal namin.

Umusog ako ng konti para lumapit sakanya. Hinawakan ko namam yung baba niya at pinaharap ko sakin.

"Love? Is everything alright?" Pagaalala ko.

Tumango naman siya bilang sagot.

"Don't tell me you're having a second thought on marrying me?" I asked.

Umiling naman siya.

"Of course not. You know how I always dreamt about on marrying you. " She said.

I smiled. I remember the time when I was still convincing her to marry me over and over again.

"Love, pwede ba akong magtanong?" Pagtataka niya.

"Yeah, what is it?" Pagtataka ko.

Kinuha ko naman yung kamay niya at hinalikan ito bago pa siya magsalita.

"You wouldn't change me into a vampire, right? "

Kunot noo naman ako napatingin sakanya dahil sa sinabi niya.

"I mean, you promised before that you wouldn't turn me into a vampire. Kaya naalala ko lang." She added.

"You're the love of my, Katherine. I can't imagine continuously being alive through these decades without you. " Seryoso kong sabi.

"Now that you've mentioned it, I can't promise you that anymore, Katherine. Look, you're immortal. You will age or you will dies eventually. I can't let that happen. Katherine I can't loose you or Travis."

"I can't let you leave me like that. I'll do anything to make you stay with me forever."

I know I'm being selfish right now, but I won't let Katherine die from aging or from anything.

I'll do everything to keep Katherine forever.

Katherine's POV

Kanina pa ako nakatitig sa kisame. As usual, tumakas nanaman si Trey para mag-hunting at kumuha ng dugo.

"I can't let you leave me like that. I'll do anything to make you stay with me forever."

This is what I fear the most.

The day where he wants me to be vampire like him.

I never want to be like him. I wanted to have a normal life. I don't want to live many decades killing people.

I can't live like that. I know how much I'll suffer everyday knowing that I need blood in order to live.

I don't want to live forever. I don't want to stay a vampire for decades.

I would rather die or kill myself before he changes me.
