Party // Chapter 20

The party was starting, of course it wasn't at my place, that wouldn't make any sense, I live in a flat. The party was hosted by Richard, at his mansion. This party was quite important for me, I would be able to meet celebrities and maybe, just maybe, future colleagues. I invited Anna, because I really want Richard to let her come on tour with me and be the photographer, her pictures are amazing and I could never be prouder.

As I headed down the halls of the enormous house I could already hear some electronic music blasting through the speakers. But, for an unknown reason, the music suddenly stopped and a voice was echoed through the walls.

"Alright everybody, we are here to celebrate the newest album Modest! management will release. Let's all give a big applause to Athena Rivers!"

And suddenly all eyes landed on me and I didn't know what to do. The voice was Richard. Was there really any need to do that? Richard motioned me to get on that little stage and take the microphone that he had been using previously

"Uh, hello everyone! Thank you all for coming, even if you don't even know me..." The crowd erupted into laughter "So... Enjoy the party!"

Richard nodded, indicating that I said the right thing. I left the stage and locked eyes with him.

His white button up was slightly tucked into his black pants, his hair was in its natural state without any type of product such as gel contaminating it. His smile was slowly disappearing as we continued to stare at each other, but finally, I looked to my feet, breaking the contact

"Hey" An unfamiliar accent spoke

I quickly turned around, ready to get mad at the person that just scared the fuck out of me but I stopped my tracks as soon as I got a glimpse of the man that spoke.

His eyes were a very dark brown, his hair was a jet black color and slightly curled.His brows were thick and his eyelashes were quite short. His black button-up was loose and the last two buttons remained undone showing a bit of his chest.

Calum Hood

"Oh my god, you're Calum Hood" I managed to choke out

He laughed and looked back at me "I'm not sure what to answer to that but yes, I am Calum Hood"

"Im sorry, of course you are Calum Hood, I just- I love 5sos so much and I cannot believe this, oh my god"

"It's alright, I just wanted to congratulate you, we all listened to your songs and they are really good, you got talent" He genuinely admitted

"Oh my god, thank you so much, this means a lot to me"

"Don't mention it, I'll see you around" He smirked while walking away and I returned a sincere smile

Holy mother I just met Calum Hood

HOLY MOTHER I JUST MET CALUM HOOD

My heart was racing and I just stood in my place, not even moving, trying to process everything that had just happened. But soon all that shock evaporated once I heard another voice talking to me

"Athena" The very familiar accent whispered

Goosebumps were rising in my skin and a shiver ran down my spine. Every single memory was coming back like when you rewatch a movie, knowing what will happen next. My heart started racing like crazy and even if I tried to calm him down, he refused to stop beating for the voice that once felt like home.

"Niall" I breathed out

"Can we talk?" He whispered again

"I thought you didn't want to do that since you kinda blocked me" I was still not facing him, my back was against his front and I refused to let him see my face

"Ath, please..."

His hands were now softly placed on my waist, which made me jump a bit

"Fine" I spat

I followed him upstairs until we reached the room in which I got ready earlier.

"I'm sorry" Was the first thing he said once we both entered the room

I remained silent

"I really am sorry Ath, I mean it" He insisted. He took a step closer to me, but I took a step back.

"I don't believe you" I simply stated

"You're kidding" He scoffed

"Does it look like I am?"

"I didn't mean to hurt you..."

Now it was my turn to scoff "Are you fucking kidding me?! I have known you for all my fucking life, you were my fucking role model growing up!"

Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry, was the only thing in my head

"I wanted to be like you when I grew up, I wanted to make you proud, I never wanted to let you down, but now you are the one that let me down!"

He remained silent, his blue eyes were now filled with hurt, and I couldn't help but feel a little bit sorry.

"You broke my heart" I told him, softly and slowly, voice cracking

"I didn't mean to" I could barely hear his response because his voice was so low

"But what hurts most, overall everything I just told you, is that the pain is coming from the same place happiness used to come from. That, is what hurts the most"

And with that, the conversation ended
