Nilingon si Yvonne ng umupo ito sa sofa, sa gilid ko. We have been staying in Singapore for three years now.

"Her?" I pointed to her picture that I brought with me. A picture of us when we were still in Grade school.

She nods. I smile as I touch her beautiful face. "She's the girl who's with me when we're far from each other. Let's just say, I treated her as my sister."

Napanguso si Yvonne sa narinig. "What?"

Kinirot ko ang kanyang pisngi at napatawa. "She's beautiful, isn't she?"

"How dare you say that in front of me?" Mataray niyang tanong na napahalakhak sa akin.

"She's kind, sweet, caring, lovable, funny and really amazing." Napatitig si Yvonne sa akin na ikinangiti ko. "She's one of the Salvernon's that took great care of me."

Napasinghap si Yvonne. "So, she's good with you?"

"Of course, but she's much more good to me. She would be there for me, she's also my best friend, she takes care of me when I'm sick, she's really cute when she gets angry after I pissed her off, she's very reliable, and... she's my chain. I feel like I'm forever linked with her, chains so strong and very unique. She holds me down and it seems I can never break free from it."

"Is that a bad thing?"

I smile at her. "Bad will never come close to what I'm feeling."

Since, I'm madly in love with her.

I shared my memories with Yvonne, this also brings me back to how we are. I never mentioned her name, since I don't want Yvonne to expect to meet her. I know we will spend more years here, it's better to have her as a memory.

"Vaughn, kamusta?" Yvonne's friend asks.

"I'm having slow progress. Ang alam ko lang ay hindi na nagpaparamdam ang Uncle niya sa kanya. But I'm still working on it."

Magiging mahirap 'to lalo na't parang hindi maayos ang relasyon ng ama ni Eurika kay Luis.

In return for my hardwork in studying, I graduated with high latin honors and because of that I received many certificates for my accomplishments, and even internships from large companies. But I turn them down. I want to start from small companies since this will definitely show how I improve bits by bits in this field.

"Kuya, do we really have to go back to the Philippines?"

Tinigil ko ang pag-eempake at nilingon ang nakangusong kapatid na nakaupo sa higaan. Lumapit ako sa kanya at pabirong ginulo ang buhok na mas lalong ikinasimangot nito. "I just brush it!"

"You know, Yvonne. I have always been wanting to go back but never got the chance." I tried to hide the sadness and longing that I'm feeling but I failed.

"Is it because of 'her'?"

Napangiti ako at mahinang tumango pero kasabay nun ang pagkirot ng aking dibdib ng maalala siya.

It's already been 10 years and we are now living our life thay we have never expected it to be. I became a successful engineer here in Singapore as Yvonne is now trying to pursue Business like her friend who has also become my friend.

Yvonne is now doing fine with her therapy but there will still be times when she would still be hiding the fact that nightmares still visit her. She is now learning how to act tough for me, she is hiding it for me to keep from worrying but that is obviously making me want to worry about her more.

Being with her for 10 years was kind of difficult for the both of us because of the trauma that she had undergone and as for me, about Leigh. Life made it difficult which makes me want to fight back. Difficulties are just obstacles waiting to be overcome. Overcoming it will be the greatest way to success.
