Chapter 10

Karas POV

Today was Friday. The day of the sleepover, Lena and I really want Jo to make some friends and Ruby would be a good one. Lena just left to take her to school and I had to meet up with Alex,

You see Alex works for an organization called the DEO, which is part of the government. She helps take down rouge Aliens.  I'm not actually a human but a Kryptonian, I was adopted by the Danvers when my pod landed on Earth, after being stuck in the phantom zone for years, my planet krypton is now destroyed and gone,

Once a year Alex likes to just give me a check up to see if anything has changed.

I may be an alien but I look like a human and I can't do anything a human couldn't and Alex just wants to make sure I stay that way.

When I was adopted Eliza and Jeremiah feared I would have powers or be dangerous but that never happened, I never developed powers and now they are the only ones who know I'm Kryptonian besides some people who work with Alex. Even Lena doesn't know, it would ruin our friendship if she were to find out. Think I was an imposter or something

"Alex" I say walking up to my sister

"You ready?" She ask and I nod

"You know I don't need you to do check ups" I tell her

"Kara, it's just to make sure everything is the same is was the year before" she explains like she has for the past 5 years

"Are you going to tell Lena?"  She ask me

"No, she would look at me differently" I say

"Lena loves you, she doesn't care if you're and alien or not" she says

"Did she tell you that or are you speculating?" I ask and she frowns

"You know it's true" she says

"I don't know Alex, it's too big of a risk, I can't lose her" I explain

"You need to tell her one day" she says and finishes checking everything

"Maybe, I got to get to work, bye love you" I say and leave her in the room,

Lenas POV

Lex and I talked a good bit this week, I am lucky he didn't turn out like our mother, even though we aren't always on the best terms he is my brother,  he was coming by after my lunch with Kara again,

"Hey Lee" Kara says walking into my office

"Kara" I smile and get up walking over to her

"So now that Cat knows we live together she texted me this morning asking if I had hurt you because you weren't at work" I tell her and she smiles

"I had a doctors appointment" she says

"Everything okay?" I ask

"Yea just a routine" she says and I nod as we sit down on the couch

"You have to eat a potsticker" she says

"Kara I just want my kale" I chuckle and she shakes her head

"Just one?" She says with a pouty face and how can I resist that?

"Fine just one, then you have to take a bite of the Kale" I say and she had a disgusted look on her face

"Lee that's disgusting" she says

"One bite" I smile and she hesitantly agrees and takes a bite

"Lena! That's not even good, how do you eat that?" She says immediately putting a potsticker in her mouth,

"Kara it's not that bad" I smile taking a bite of the kale

"Yes it is" she chuckles and I shake my head as we continue eating our lunch

"What time is Sam bringing Ruby by?" I ask her

"6 I believe" she says and I nod,
I really hope Jo can make friends with Ruby,

Karas POV

I had just picked Jo up from school and we were heading back to the penthouse,

"Is Ruby coming tonight?" She ask

"Yea" I say and unlock the door as we walk in

"We are just going to order dinner tonight to make it easier, is there anything you want?" I ask her and she shrugs

"Whatever is fine" she says

"Pizza good?" I ask and she nods

"Yea, I have a lot of homework though that I'm going to go do" she says and walks back to her room, I needed to edit another article so I did that until I needed to order food for tonight,

I ordered the pizza when Lena got home and not long after Sam knocks on the door with Ruby

"Hey, come in" I say opening it and they both step in

"Thank you both for letting her stay" Sam says

"Of course, go have fun" I say and she says goodbye to Ruby and leaves

"We ordered pizza" I tell her and she smiles

"Jo, Ruby is here" I hear Lena knocking on her door and she comes out and says hi, and they both went back to Jos room,

"Maybe they will be friends" Lena says

"I hope so" I say and get a bottle of water out of the fridge, about 15 minutes later pizza had arrived

"Girls, pizza is here" Lena says and they both come out of the room smiling, deciding to ignore it since they seem happy and not say anything, after everyone ate the girls went back into the room while Lena and I both poured a glass of wine, I can't get drunk but I can still enjoy alcohol, well mainly only if it taste good, thank you alien DNA,

Later that night after Lena and I showered, and the girls got ready for bed we made some popcorn and we all sat out and watched a movie, after the movie the girls went Back to the room and Lena and I went to stay goodnight

"You sleeping in here?" I ask Ruby and she nods

"Okay, well don't stay up too late, if you need one of us come get us" I say and Lena and I go back out to the living room

"They seem like friends" Lena says

"Yea they do, I'm glad she is happy" I say

"Me too, and Ruby is good, since we know Sam she can come over whenever" Lena says and I nod

"Exactly" I smile
