Draco was in the library with Blaise and Ginny, as much as he hated to agree the young Weasley was good company, his hair was still red but he knew what he was supposed to do and there was no way he was going to give in first
"Ginny, leave"
All three of them turned to Ronald Weasley who had an emotionless expression on his face
"Ron—"
"I want to have a talk with Zabini"
Draco saw Blaise put up his shields, he pulled out his wand in case of emergency
Ginny glanced to her boyfriend before slowly getting up and turning to her brother
"Ron—"
"It's okay love" Blaise said
Ginny walked away slowly and Ron slid into her seat
"Weasley" Blaise greeted
"Zabini"
Draco was long forgotten, he could easily leave but he wasn't going to leave his friend
"Weasley if you're here to tell me to sod—"
"What are your intentions with my sister?" Ron interrupted
"What?" Blaise asked surprised, even Draco was surprised, he had fully expected the Weasley king to tell his friend to sod off and leave his sister alone
"What are your intentions with my sister? Are you looking for a quick shag because if you are I suggest you leave, but if you're looking for something deeper—" he trailed off
Blaise quickly regained his composure once again
"I'm not looking for a quick shag...gods you know this but Ginny is extraordinary, she's strong and stubborn and...Salazar she's beautiful" Blaise said
He was being too sappy for Draco's opinion but he knew Blaise, he wouldn't say these things if he didn't mean it
"And when the Carrows were here...Ginevra did not let them scare her, if I'm being completely honest I think the Carrows were scared of her, bloody hell I'm terrified of her when we're on the Quidditch field" Blaise said
This caused Ronald to chuckle
"Tends to happen when you grow up with a lot of siblings I guess" Blaise said, his expression became somber "I'm sorry about your brother Weasley...if it helps I know what it's like to lose a sibling"
"How do you mean?" Weasley asked suspiciously, Blaise sighed sadly, he turned to Draco who nodded softly, Blaise turned back to Ronald Weasley who was waiting for an answer
"My mother was neutral during the war, she wasn't on either side of the war...but with all her connections you-know-who wanted her, when she denied him he killed my oldest sister, he knew nothing would come of it if he killed my mothers latest husband but in killing my sister he inflicted fear in her, my mother may not love her husband's but she will do anything to protect me and my siblings, he forced her hand to chose a side in the war" Blaise said, he scratched his forearm where the dark mark was burned into
"It's easy to talk to her, about anything, especially about Alison...I miss my sister, and Ginny misses her brother" Blaise whispered
Ron patted his arm awkwardly, all three boys coughed awkwardly and stayed silent for a second
"Draco can testify for me, but I mean it when I say I'm madly in love with her, he knows I'm not one to say those words easily" Blaise said, Ron glanced to Draco who nodded once
