"I don't know, I have never tried to hide it, so it seems like you're just bad at noticing your surroundings", you giggled. He nudged you lightly with his shoulder, smirking as he continued to flip the pages showing pictures of all your friends here in this regiment.

"Hey, you're gonna show me yours now?", you asked, almost forgetting he was supposed to show you as well. He looked nervous all of a sudden.

"Uh, yeah... I don't know if they're as good as yours though", he said sheepishly, scratching his neck. You continued to beam at him.

"They probably are, just show me!", you encouraged as he passed your notebook back to you. He hesitantly pulled out a notebook of his own.

"I haven't drawn as much as you though, but you can look at what I have", he said, giving you permission to look as you pleased. Your eyes widened just like Jean's had, as you opened up at a random page. It was a picture of a hand clutched around a rose. Flipping over to the next page you saw a drawing of a girl embracing a boy, flowers draped on them. You looked at Jean with an amazed expression, his cheeks were bright pink.

"Jean!", you exclaimed, not moving your gaze from his. "What do you even mean 'they are not as good as yours'?! These are amazing!", you continued praising. The corners of his mouth twitched upwards into a shy smile. "I just draw what I see, but these! These are really artistic! Wow Jean, just wow!", you said, flipping some more pages, eager to see what else he had in there.

"I also draw and sketch things I see like you do, but I mostly draw when I'm bored, leading me to use my imagination to keep myself entertained", he explained, his hand back on his neck. You went to look at the first page in the book, noticing it was a girl that looked a lot like Mikasa.

"You drew Mikasa?", you asked curious, and his cheeks went beet red again.

"Actually no", he let out a slight laugh. "This I drew many years ago, before I even joined the Cadet Corps. It's a funny coincidence", he continued explaining. You giggled a little, deciding not to dig further as Jean looked ready to melt the way his face heated up.

"It was Moblit, Hange's executive officer, who taught me the techniques and got me into drawing. We meet up at least a couple of times every week to 'show and tell'. It's quite fun! Maybe you would want to join us next time?", you suggested excited. He looked uncertain as he thought about your proposal.

"Actually, that sounds interesting. Sure!", he answered you after a while, smiling.

"Hey guys!", Sasha's voice rung out from the entrance to the dining hall. Jean quickly took his book back from you, putting it away in his pocket before Sasha could see.

"Y/N, where have you been all night? I thought you would at least arrive when Mikasa did, but I didn't even see a glimpse of you", Sasha asked curious as she sat down across from you. Your face heated up slightly.

"Oh, uh, I went to bunk at the boys' room actually... Long story", you answered her modest. Her eyes widened as she opened her mouth to ask something, but you were saved by the bell- literally. The chef rung the kitchen bell, signalling that the food was ready, and Sasha ran over to the serving station. You and Jean laughed at the speed she obtained whenever food was in question, as the both of you calmly followed her.

"I think we should do something fun tonight before curfew!", Connie said as all of you stretched out, exhausted after your last training session.

"Like what?", Crista asked eagerly.

"What about a bonfire night? Like we had that one time in boot camp?", Reiner suggested, much to the delight of the rest of you.
