They were definitely tougher to kill than the swordsmen, and he definitely received some injuries, but they weren't enough to kill him.

Xing Hui could see every of their movements, from their pivoted feet to the swing of their hands. Everything seemed vivid and surreal in his eyes.

Is this what they meant when they say that 'your mind is in the zone'? Xing Hui chuckled, his eyes turned bloodshot as a grin rose up in his lips, this feeling ain't that bad though.

Xing Hui continued to move forward, the grip of his hand on the hilt of the sword tightened. He saw one of his opponents swung at him with a horizontal slash, going for his stomach. With a quick swing of his sword, he parried the attack with an arched counter, slapping away the sword that was coming from his left side.

Their blades collided, and in a flash, the man's sword arm was easily looped off at the elbow, and a howl of pain followed.

"ARGHH!!!"

Another sword came straight for his face and Xing Hui twisted his body to the side. While simultaneously evading the thrust, he moved in on the new attacker with a wide step. Rotating his whole body as he closed in, he planted his sword into the man's chest. The thin blade easily slid between his opponent's ribs, and he fell to the floor, dead.

Taking a step back himself, Xing Hui lowered his sword once again and stood vigilantly. The man whose forearm he had severed was screaming as blood sprayed everywhere.

"Anyone else?" Xing Hui taunted, glaring at the group before him in a show of absolute dominance.

The assassins stopped and none dared to move.

Xing Hui subtly glanced at the second floor, and found his lover's figure advancing towards the perpetrators of this problematic situation.

I should quickly finish this up and help him.

"General Shao Liang, uncle," Fu Lin nodded to them in greeting.

Shao Liang and Fu Heng froze when they heard his voice. They turned their head just to see the person they hated the most.

"It's been a while since we've met, and I'm quite surprised that your lower body seemed perfectly fine, General Shao Liang."

The man in question immediately clenched his thighs, glaring at Fu Lin with a pair of murderous eyes. His hands holding the hilt of his sword, ready to unsheathe it.

"Hey, hey," Fu Lin backed away with a grin on his face, "I'm not looking for trouble here. I just wanna talk."

"Talk, huh?" Fu Heng gave a sneer, "You mean wasting our time so the palace guards can arrive?"

Fu Lin laughed, "As I thought. You're really smart, uncle. I've always liked you since I was a child, unfortunately, you chose to betray us."

Fu Heng jumped, "You knew?"

"Everything about you is transparent in front of me, uncle. So surrender and I'll let you live." A smirk rose up on Fu Lin's lips.

Fu Heng glanced at the space behind Fu Lin. His eyes sparkled in an evil light.

"... you're alone?"

Fu Lin smiled and said with a taunting tone, "Well, why don't you try and find out?"

As Fu Heng heard that, a sharp and icy voice came out of his mouth, "Kill him."

Ten assassins immediately followed his order and lunged at from the shadows.
