(Y/N) was one of the first Gladers, she was only 13 when she arrived not long after Alby and Minho, Newt came up just after her. Being the only girl in the glade can be challenging but with (Y/N) being there...
"... we should take her with. Cure her back at Paradise."
I said, and she nodded.
"... yeah."
She turned back to me with a smile,
"We should get some sleep."
She took my hand and lead me inside one of the houses that was actually still intact.
The inside was tiny.
There were fairy lights, and sheets covering the windows and walls so no light could come inside and no unwanted people could see inside.
She turned on the main lights and now I could actually see.
There was shelves with gear, guns and other military gear on them.
But then on the same shelf there were candles, paintings, action figures and stuffed animals that looked like they had seen better days.
There was a huge king size bed in the corner with millions of pillows and blankets on it, and a fluffy rug filled with dust and dirt so it had faded from it's original pinky colour.
"What is this place?"
I said, continuing to look around.
"This is my place."
She explained.
"I... dont spend much time in here. It feels too lonely but-"
I looked over to her and she was already looking at me.
"If you stayed I wouldnt mind sleeping here."
She said, moving over to a chest in the corner of the room.
My cheeks heated,
"W-what?"
"Relax, you dont have to litrally get in the same bed as me if you dont want to-"
"No no! That's not it- I just-"
I didnt have the words,
"I'm just awkward..."
She laughed as she peeled off her exo skeleton armour, now just in some sweat pants and a plain shirt.
She sat down on her bed and took off her boots that were stained with blood and mud.
I sat beside her and did the same, putting my shoes beside hers.
She quickly shoved all the pillows to one side of the bed and snuggled up under the blankets.
I lay beside her, leaning on my hand and giving her a kiss on the forehead.
"You ok love?"
I asked and she sighed, as I traced a small scar that was along her cheek.
"... I wanted to save people when I helped build this group up... but now... I know I cant save everyone."
I gave her a gentle smile.
"Saving one person is already amazing, and you saved plenty."
She still didnt look up,
"You saved me."
That made her look up, and she gave me a soft smile.
"... thanks Newt."
"Of course love."
She snuggled up closer to me and I put my chin on top of her head.
"I love you Newt..."
"I love you to."
She gave a content sigh and soon fell asleep.
I slowly got up and turned off the main lights about to leave...
But I turned back and looked at her, sleeping soundly and I couldn't leave her alone.
Not in a place she felt so isolated and alone.
I climbed back into the bed beside her, and pulled her close against my chest.
She stirred a little but didnt wake up.
"Goodnight love..."
I sighed, closing my eyes with a smile.
Little did I know... someone outside, who had managed to find a place between the sheets and lights to look inside.
And they're smile slowly disappeared.
