Getting adjusted to the school was easier than Karl thought. He originally had planned to sit on his own during lunch for at least a week, but it had only been around three days before he was offered a seat.

"You can sit by me and my friends at lunch if you want," Quackity, a kid in his science class, told him.

So, Karl had of course accepted, and when lunch rolled around he was sitting at a table full of new friends. It was a little awkward that one of these friends was in fact Schlatt, the guy who had been picking on the scrawny boy a few days ago, but Schlatt didn't seem to be bothered.

"Where'd you move from?" A boy asked him. When Karl got a good look at him, he quickly realized that this boy was Ranboo, he recognized him from his study hall.

"Chicago," Karl answered.

"When did you move?" A different boy asked. Karl knew this one too. His name was George, he was known for acting up in his math class. Karl liked him.

"Last weekend," Karl informed them.

The girl, Minx, let out a surprised sound. "Oh, so you're like... new new."

Karl giggled. "Yeah, I guess so."

"I still can't believe they let the mutt give you a tour of the school," Schlatt commented. "That must have been an awful first impression."

Karl wanted to object, but the last kid, Wilbur, had something to add. "Yeah, that is quite strange how they did that. Schlatt told us how Sapnap beat him up during your tour. That must've been eventful."

Karl couldn't help but smile at the memory. He knew that Schlatt deserved it. "Why were you heckling the little blonde kid anyways?" He questioned.

"Tommy is constantly stealing our stuff," Quackity answered. "Someone has to put the rugrat in check, or else he'll keep doing it."

"He keeps doing it anyway," Minx pointed out.

"At least I get to rough him up while he's doing it," Schlatt slipped in.

The others continued to talk, but Karl had stopped listening. He was too focused on the fact that Sapnap walked into the lunchroom with a bruised nose. Sapnap didn't have a bruised nose the last time he saw him. He wanted to know why he had it.

"Did Sapnap get into another fight?" Karl questioned, gesturing in his direction.

George let out a laugh. "Probably. Either that or his daddy beat him."

Minx smacked George on the arm, causing the boy to let out a whine. "Ow! That hurt," He complained.

Minx rolled her eyes. "You're not supposed to say stuff like that, you crybaby."

Karl was a bit surprised at the revelation. Surely Sapnap's home was a bit dirty and filled with junk, but he didn't really go as far as to expect that his dad was abusive. He began to slightly regret the fact that he made Sapnap keep the kitten.

"So, what's your deal, Karl Jacobs?"

Minx's question caught Karl off guard. Her tone wasn't aggressive at all, he just wasn't sure how to reply. "What do you mean?"

"I mean, have you noticed any pretty girls around the school? Anyone you're interested in?" Minx pressed on with an eyebrow wiggle.

Quackity rolled his eyes. "Leave the new boy alone, Minx."

"What? I'm just asking a question," She protested.

Karl smiled at the two of them and shook his head. "No, I haven't notice any girls around," He replied matter-of-factly. "Why? Are my good looks catching your interest?" He teased.

Schlatt let out a laugh and George simply shook his head with a smile.

Karl stared blankly at the group, unsure of what they were getting at.

"Minx is gay," Wilbur finally told him. "She's definitely not flirting with your ass."

"Pan," Minx corrected carefully. "But I'm still not flirting with you. Sorry to burst your bubble, Karl."

Karl snorted. "No bubbles have been bursted," He replied.

Their conversation continued as Karl lost interest. He was too focused on watching Sapnap sit next to Tommy at one of the lunch tables. He wouldn't have suspected that they'd be friends. Tommy gives off annoying freshman vibes, while Sapnap seems like he couldn't care less about what anyone else is doing.

The two of them still seemed that way. Karl watched from a distance as Tommy began to ramble to Sapnap about something. Sapnap seemed uninterested, he was just eating his sandwich and staring at the table. It was exactly how Karl pictured their interaction going.

"...right Karl?"

Karl snapped out of his trance and looked back at the people he was sitting with, who were now all staring at him expectantly. "What?" He said with confusion.

George rolled his eyes. "I said that you should come to Ranboo's party this Friday. It's gonna be super fun," He repeated, giving Karl a small nudge on the shoulder.

Karl swallowed nervously. Party? He had never been invited to a party before this moment. "Where's it at?" He asked with a bit of excitement bubbling in his chest.

"Ranboo's house, I can send you the address," George assured him. "There's going to be drugs and alcohol and stuff, so like... don't tell too many people about it," He added.

Karl nodded with understanding. He already knew that rule. If too many people found out about it, the more likely it is to get busted. "Am I allowed to bring friends?"

"Of course you can," Quackity told him. "The more people, the better. Just make sure they won't snitch or anything. That'd suck ass."

Karl smiled. "Obviously," He replied.

Then Minx let out a small shriek that drew the attention of nearby tables. "Schlatt! You ate my carrots you fucking cunt!" She exclaimed, smacking the other on the shoulder.

Schlatt was cackling as Minx continued to lose it over the loss of her carrots.

Karl couldn't help but start laughing. He was really starting to like this friend group.
