Chapter 17

Soon Beyoncé came back to the car with Bry. Bri noticed that Bry started calling Beyoncé mommy and she was cool with it. She felt the whole "ma" thing would come organically, she didn't want to force it.

They drove towards the community center. Being around there was still a little weird to Bri since what happened to Wayne but it's becoming easier as time goes by.

They walked in the gym and nobody was really there yet. They went towards Shawn's office. 

Shawn looked over and checked his watch. It was only one thirty.

"Hey, what y'all doing here so early?" Shawn asked.

Bry shrugged and went to sit down and turned on the TV. Shawn eyed Beyoncé and Bri. He rubbed his temple.

"What happened?" He asked.

Beyoncé looked at Bri.

"Tell him." Beyoncé said.

Bri rolled her eyes and in one quick motion Beyoncé yanked her up.

"Bria, I'm not playing with you." Beyoncé said. "What I tell you about rolling your eyes?"

"Not to." Bri said.

"Okay then." Beyoncé said and let her go.

Shawn just sat there trying to figure out what happened in that ten seconds.

Shawn looked at Bri.

"I was skipping class." Bri said.

"Why?" Shawn asked.

Bri just stood there.

"You just did it because?" He asked. "Alright. Go run."

"But-"

"Nah, go run." He said and Bri left out the office.

Shawn sat in his chair and looked over at Bry watching TV and then at Bey.

"You okay?" Shawn asked.

"Yeah." She said.

"Don't stress babe." He said. 

"I'm not, I'm going to meet my mom." She said.

"Okay," Shawn said standing.

He walked over to her and rubbed her stomach. He bent down and kissed her.

"Bry, mommy's leaving." Shawn said.

"Bye mommy." He said not turning from the TV.

They laughed.

"Love you, see you later." Beyoncé said.

"Love you." Shawn said and she walked out.

Beyoncé went to meet her mom for lunch. She walked in and was greeted with the girls as well.

"I didn't know y'all was coming too." Beyoncé said sitting down.

"Surprise, surprise." Kelly said.

They ordered their food and now down to business. Beyoncé sighed.

"What's wrong with you?" Solange asked.

"Bri was caught skipping class for the second time." Beyoncé said.

"What?" Michelle asked. "Why?"

"Cause she could." Beyoncé said shrugging. "I don't know."

"Where she at now?" Solange asked.

"With Shawn running her life away." Beyoncé said. "I wasn't dealing with it. I have to stay stress free."
