It's a bit late but I gonna be honest here, it's because I forgot to post on this site lmao. Hope you enjoy anyways.

Dream watched with raised brows as Tommy lugged stacks of cobblestone along the path, he'd offered to help but the younger insisted he was fine, saying something about being a tough man. The masked male had been left to hold the sack with their tools.

"So what are we building?" Dream finally decided to ask. The blonde next to him grunted as he nearly fell over, once he caught himself he peered over the stack of stone in his hand at the older male.

"A tower," He answered simply. Dream's brow furrowed but he nodded slowly and continued following the teen. A silence fell over them but it wasn't as suffocating as the silence that had followed him in Tubbo's house. This one wasn't swarmed by his thoughts and questions, it was filled with the occasional sound of nature and Tommy's grunts as they walked along.

It felt domestic in a way and Dream found himself enjoying it a lot.

The two males stepped off the path and walked into a small cleared patch next to a few buildings. Tommy let the stack in his hands fall to the ground with a muted thud as it hit the grass and began to direct Dream on how to begin the process of his infamous tower building.

Dream, not having anything better to do, and also not quite feeling up to being stuck alone with his thoughts went along with the teen and began making the eight-by-eight perimeter of the tower as Tommy said to. They continued with a calm air surrounding them as they worked. Dream would ask questions about random things and Tommy would either answer or make a comment or two if he didn't have one.

As obvious as it was that they were avoiding the nagging topic of that morning it felt almost normal. That was until Dream couldn't hold it in anymore, the questions in his mind swirling to a nearly unbearable degree.

"I remembered something today," He spoke in what he hoped was a casual tone not looking away from where he slotted a piece of cobblestone between two columns. Tommy glanced in his direction but didn't pause as he continued to set up the ladder he'd made, Dream was thankful he didn't draw more attention to his words than necessary and seemed keen on keeping the conversation casual as well.

"Really?" Tommy said in faux boredom but neither commented on it and decided to keep up their silly act. It was bound to come up eventually, might as well get it over with now while he had the courage. Tommy peeked over the growing tower wall and Dream nodded through he wasn't sure Tommy could see the motion.

"This morning I went out on a walk," The dirty blonde moved to explain further and Tommy hummed for him to continue. Dream took a deep breath before moving back to the stone-filled chest and grabbing more materials. He turned and avoided looking in Tommy's subtle glances and moved up the ladder. "I saw that building in the middle of the lake,"

"You went all the way over there?" Tommy questioned as he maneuvered another ladder around the other side of the growing tower. He sat down on the wall and looked over at the older before gazing out at the lands surrounding them.

"I hadn't realized how long I'd been walking, I must've spaced out or something," Dream shrugged in reply and Tommy nodded with a thoughtful expression on his face. Dream continued placing more cobblestone around his half of the perimeter. "Is that building important?" He asked after a brief silence and finally looked over at the teen. Tommy turned his head and nodded after a moment of hesitation.

"It's apparently the oldest building on the server,"

Bricks that were made by aching hands as laughter spilled from sliming lips without fear. Woodend planks that were slightly singed after reckless fires were put out followed by sheepish apologies.
