You had been searching for Frisk for what felt like hours. You had passed by many puzzles that had been solved as well as deactivated traps. You even saw a bear trap that had malfunctioned. There weren't very many monsters around, and the few you had encountered you regretfully killed. Eventually, without realizing you had circled all the way back to the fishing rod with its line cast into the water. You yelled in frustration and threw your dust covered handgun into the water. You were out of ammo anyway.

You then plopped in the snow and wondered how you managed to get turned around. You huffed and stood back up. Now unarmed, you once again began your trek through the snow. After quite some time and several breaks to catch your breath, you came across a bridge. On the other side, you could faintly see what appeared to be buildings. A sigh of relief exit your mouth as you began crossing the long and narrow bridge. It was rickety and swayed back and forth with each step you took. The planks of wood creaked and groaned from your weight. Just as you got to the end of the bridge, the plank of wood under you snapped in half, sending you tumbling downward. You grabbed onto the ropes, holding on for your life. You tried pulling yourself up when you noticed the ropes were beginning to fray. Panic shot through your body as you hurriedly pulled yourself up. As soon as your torso hit the snowy ground, a figure appeared before you. All you saw was a pair of black and red untied sneakers and a set of bony legs. As you looked up, you saw more of who was before you. Black and yellow basketball shorts, followed by a dark red sweater, a black leather jacket with golden brown fur on the hood, a red collar with gilded spikes, and a skull with red glowing pupils in its sockets. The skeleton smiled menacingly, a large set of sharp teeth with a singular gold tooth showing through. The skeleton knelt down before you.

"aww. what's the matter? can't get back up?" Suddenly, the skeleton grabbed you by your wrist and yanked you up, dragging you in the snow slightly. "there we are. all better." You stood up, brushing the snow off your clothes. As you looked up you were greeted by a blunt object hitting you in the face and knocking you back to the ground. You quickly blacked out.

Your eyes slowly opened, seeing nothing but darkness all around you. You lifted your hand to your forehead, a throbbing pain reverberating through your skull. You slowly sat up, groaning in the process, when you heard a strange sound, like metal clanging against each other. You looked around, wondering where it came from. As your eyes adjusted to the dark, you saw a metal cuff attached to your ankle, which had a chain going from it to the wall. You gripped the chain and attempted to yank it from the wall, but to no avail. You dropped the chain and it clattered to the cold ground. You looked around some more, hoping to figure out where exactly you were. Against a wall was a simple work bench, with various tools of pristine cleanliness. A door was across the room from you as well as a small window. You stood up, the clattering of metal echoing against the walls, and got as close to the window as possible. You were only able to move about a foot from where you were, but you could just barely make out something outside.

Snow. There was nothing but snow. You cursed and sat back down, rubbing your arms in a failed attempt at warming up. Suddenly, you heard more clanging metal. You looked to your left and gasped in shock. Against the wall, chained up like you, was Frisk. They were attempting to get the cuff off their ankle.

"Frisk!" The child looked up at you and smiled in relief. "Thank god, you're okay!" Frisk began using American Sign Language to communicate with you.

'I'm happy that you're okay, as well.' They signed.

"Do... Do you know where we are? How did you get here?"

'We're in Snowdin. I got captured by Papyrus after he made me do puzzles. I think he plans to take us to Undyne.'

You weren't quite sure who Papyrus was, perhaps he was the skeleton you ran into earlier. But from what Toriel said, Undyne is a huge problem. If whoever Papyrus is takes you to her, you'll both die.

"This isn't good, Frisk. We'll die if that happens. We need to get out of the Underground and fast." You began to yank on the chain attached to your ankle, panic shooting through your entire body and pumping adrenaline through your veins. The door suddenly swung open, a blast of cold air blowing into the room.

"TRYING TO ESCAPE, I SEE!" The loud voice startled you out of your skin. Standing in the doorway was an extremely tall skeleton. He wore black armor on his upper body, torn red gloves and a scarf to match, black skinny jeans, and red boots with a slight heel. His whole demeanor was terrifying. His eyes were very similar to the other skeleton, but more narrow. The left one had large cracks going through it. His sharp cheekbones formed into a strong jaw, which held incredibly sharp teeth. "YOU WILL NOT ESCAPE SO EASILY, HUMAN. FOR I, THE GREAT AND TERRIBLE PAPYRUS, HAVE MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE." So this is Papyrus. Man, you really wish it was the other skeleton.

Papyrus began walking toward you, his long strides making it extremely quick and easy. He kneeled in front of you so that he was at eye level and scoffed. "PATHETIC." He stood up again and went over to Frisk.

"Leave them alone!" Papyrus stopped in his tracks and sharply turned in your direction.

"EXCUSE ME? HOW DARE YOU RAISE YOUR VOICE AT THE GREAT AND TERRIBLE PAPYRUS!" You flinched as a sharp bone slammed into the wall next to your head. "ONCE I AM READY, YOU WILL BE TAKEN TO UNDYNE. AND THEN YOU WILL BE KILLED AND YOUR SOUL WILL BE HARVESTED." His face was mere inches from your own. "YOU BETTER ENJOY THESE LAST MOMENTS OF YOUR LIFE WHILE YOU CAN. BECAUSE PRETTY SOON," He tipped your chin up so that you'd make eye contact. "YOU WON'T HAVE A LIFE ANYMORE." He then stood and left, slamming the door shut and locking it. You looked at Frisk, then down at the ground before you. There was no escaping this. Your fate was sealed.
