My heart is wrapped in pain
I never learned how to refrain
the hurt from piling up inside
until I get swept up by its tide
It's my burden to bear
and I show it all my care
It keeps me awake at night
for that great is its might
One day I'll finally find a chance
to regain footing, a firmer stance
Today is not that day I know
but I'll take the progress, however slow
Keeping up the fight 'till the end
so my troubled heart can mend
When it can rejoice among its kind
happiness is what I'll find
At last.
