Part One

Chapter 1

On March 13th, 1957, seven young people opened seven identical letters with slightly brown paper. The letter read:

Hello,

You opened this letter which means you have accepted my invitation. Due to something about you, your presence has been requested at 3557 [REDACTED] Lane on March 21st, 1957 at 6 pm. This is NON-OPTIONAL so please do be on time. If you do not show up we may have to enforce drastic measures. We do not want to do that so please, just be punctual. Do try to prepare for the game.

It is now 5:55 pm on March 21st. I have been sitting by the door for approximately half an hour. Right as I check my watch I hear two distinct knocks on the door. I rise from the chair and tug the handle to see two people standing there. One is a slim man with raven hair and piercing green eyes, the other a shorter, less slim man with blond hair. I step aside and let them in.

"Hello, I am the host's closest advisor and I will be here in their absence for the time being." I pull out two chairs and motion for them to introduce themselves.

The plumper man speaks first. "Hi, My name is Patton!" he says with a bit of a smile. I motion for the other to speak and he does after a moment of hesitation, "Hello, I'm Virgil." He says quietly and I give a nod of acknowledgment. After a moment I hear another set of knocks, but this time there were three. I excuse myself and answer the door. Now there were two semi-identical men and a shorter, slimmer, and paler person. I clear my throat and ask them to follow me. The two twins sit on the loveseat next to Patton's chair, and the other person stays standing.

I motion for them to introduce themselves when I hear another knock. I open the door to see the last two guests. I, then, let them in and lock the door behind them. We arrive at the room where they are all sitting. I lead them to the sitting room and give them each a glass of tea.

"I suppose you all must be wondering why the host has brought you here?" They all nod at different levels of intensity. "Well, the host has required me to introduce you all, and I will be taking questions after we do just that."

Why don't we go around the table and let me introduce you like the host has asked me to?

Roman [REDACTED]: Closest connection to his twin brother, Remus who is here right now. Roman works as a worker of the night. He has encountered many people with his line of work, will this be a downfall or something that saves him?

Remus [REDACTED]: Closest connection to his twin brother Roman. Remus was a bright child but in a different way than most people expect. He studied criminology and forensic science in school and may be able to put that schooling to work tonight.

Virgil [REDACTED]: Closest connection to his best friend Remy, who could not be here tonight, sadly. Virgil is an artist who specializes in self-portraits. He hates himself but loves his eyes.

Janus [REDACTED]: Closest connection to the children he cares for. He runs the two-faced circus in this very town and takes in people like himself to care for. He was bullied in his young life to the point that they burned the left side of his face.

Logan [REDACTED]: Closest connection to his father, who unfortunately died earlier this year. He is a teacher of poetry to young children. Has he learned anything from all that Shakespeare? We shall see.

Patton [REDACTED]: Closest connection to his deceased mother who died when he was only 13 years old. I'm assuming this is why he now works as San Francisco's most famous witch, specializing in accurate tarot readings and talking to the dead.

Vix [REDACTED]: Closest connection to their friend Callie. They work as a shrink of sorts, helping people (children especially) with bad home lives. They have had to work through troubles of their own to get where they are in the world.

"Who is the host?"

Now, that's a very good question, but one for later don't you think?
