"It does not stop there Mr.Black, it seems that you, and one other student attending the school who wishes to remain anonymous for now, are the rightful King of the Forest."

His eyes widened in shock, he felt cold. What did this mean? He was pureblood! He was! He had to be! He..! He...
Draco paled dramatically at the news, of course he had speculated things, but they were purely speculation! Never had he thought it was true...

The blond boy was shocked -rightfully so because really, him? A king? Of the forest? Let's not forget an elf! A magical creature! That was preposterous! - and so his next actions can only really be described as logical. The blond made a strategic move fit for a Slytherin, an ex Malfoy and the Heir of the House Of Black. He ran.

He jumped out of the seat and fled the office, ignoring the werewolf calling after him, failing to notice the figure that slipped out from behind a tapestry. He ran and ran and ran.

He fled the castle only stopping at the black lake, there he hid, behind a tree.

The elements watched their King in reverence, ready to bend to his command, however unable. He shivered, finally taking notice of the way; the flowers leaned his way; how the trees shivered with anticipation; the enticing way the wind whipped gently round him as if giving him a gentle embrace; the way the water rippled and bubbled when he stepped towards the lake, how its' currents twisted and twirled with exuberance as he put his fingers under it's surface. Part of him, the logical and slightly loathing part, was shocked deep to his core, he was a dying boy after all, not a King, let alone a King of The Forest. Another part, the less logical, was curious about the path ahead. What this could all mean. Curious about the other royal, they are a student, did Lupin say? Who could they be?

This was just the beginning of his tale. More was certainly to come.

************ Harry's POV ************

He was pacing in the Gryffindor common room, it was empty as everyone was outside. It was a Hogsmead weekend and, on top of that, the summer. So here he was, pacing, alone, locked in his thoughts. He paced back and forth, wishing to run to Draco. He would be oh so conflicted and Harry practically itched with the need to run to him. The thought caused a pause in his pacing, when had that happened? When had he felt so driven to him? They were friends, sure, close friends even, but to itch with the need to comfort him? Even Ron didn't have that privilege!

Hermione had that privilege, although that was because she was the sister he never had, on her periods (which, yes, he's not embarrassed to say, he's 16 for gods sake not a child) he had comforted her through many unstable days. She helped him through his difficult days too. When she hurt, he wished he could take her away from it all and give her the moon, because she deserved the best. (And - frankly - Ron was arsehole sometimes and his words could sting when he was angry. Which was another thing that confused Harry to no end, why she still liked the blithering idiot!)

When had Draco become equal to Hermione? How had that happened? Was it how he had been caught, vulnerable in his escapism and Draco had not cared? Not judged? How he had extended the olive branch of friendship, and how Harry had received it with open arms?

He remembers it still, how Draco had claimed their entire life to be a "freak normality". It was true, he supposed, more true than he had realised. His childhood had normalised abuse, his school experience had allowed him to normalise the threat of Voldemort, his rivalry with Draco was just another normality. He and Draco has always butted heads, and beyond that Gryffindor and Slytherin always clashed, their rivalry had seemed like nothing more than that.

This year though, this year Draco had broken that normality. Through his changed name and his changed attitude, not forgetting to mention he was dying. And Harry? He followed Draco's lead and broke his own normality by befriending the Slytherin instead of punching him.

This tentative friendship had blossomed into something Harry hadn't even acknowledged himself. Now if only he could begin to decipher all these jumbled feelings, perhaps he could begin to grasp the situation and how he could possibly have grown so close and fond of Draco in such a short amount of time.

Then it popped into him head, Hermione would know exactly what to do!

A/n sorry to make you wait so long. I have had a very difficult time of late. I came out to my family about some very sensitive topics and am getting the help i need. I am also subsequently going through a diagnosis for PTSD. Slow updates. Im sorry.

Do you guys enjoy seeing Harry's POV? Or should it be a one time thing? Let me know.
