"So, you're saying that you went to take out the trash, fully dressed with sunglasses on at nighttime and your skateboard--which you PREVIOUSLY left at school?"

You stand in front of your parents in your room, wringing your hands

"I know it seems odd but let me explain!" You mentally prepare yourself to string an elaborate lie

"Okay, so this is what happened; I found my skateboard in my backpack! So, I decided to just skate a little in the front yard. THEN...I put a cool outfit on because I wanted to post a photo of myself online. after that, I decided to take out the trash."

It's hard to lie to your parents when you have leaves stuck to your face and a convenience store bag hidden under the bed. But somehow, you actually did it

Both parents study your expression for a long time

"Well, I suppose that checks out" Father waves a hand at you, wanting to dismiss the situation "Stay in bed for the rest of the week, though."

They both left your room, but you were still processing the fact that you even escaped that creepy guy in the first place

The first thing you do when your parents leave is take the majority of your clothes off, aside from your hoodie, and plop down onto the bed with your legs in the air

You smile softly, scrolling through your previous messages with Tanjirou. Surprisingly, he texts back right away

You: Yeah! a guy wearing a hoodie chased me ^v^' I uhhh...think he knows where I live now

You: IK but don't worrry, I totally handled him 😎

You: Nooo it's okay! You live rlly far from my house and I would feel bad

Tanjirou: No, my mind's already made up. You deserve better than that

You kick your legs in the air, letting out an inward squeal. You were too overwhelmed to notice your phone slipping from your hands

Tanjirou:   ?

You: sorry, dropped my phone on my face

Tanjirou: Lol, go get some rest. U must be tired

After that, you slept really well for a change. You actually got a full eight hours and woke up at a decent time.

Every day up until Friday was rather monotonous, but your favorite part of the day was getting a moment to text Tanjiro

Sure, you and your friends texted a few times here and there, but since they weren't replying a lot, you just assumed everybody was busy.

Thankfully, you didn't see that weird guy from Tuesday night show up at any point in the week, so you assumed he was gone for good

And as for your bruises? They were healing quite nicely. The warm baths and healthy food in your system left you feeling revitalized and ready to come back to reality.
