It had been a couple of days since Spencer walked into the store. It was a slow day so you were sitting in your chair re-reading War and Peace. You heard the door open and looked up to find Spencer walking in with a woman, blonde hair and blue eyes. You were a little disappointed to find him walking in with another woman until you saw that they had guns holstered unto their hips.
"Hello I'm SSA Jennifer Jareau and this is Dr. Spencer Reid with the behavioral analysis unit of the FBI" the blonde held out her badge
Spencer nudged her "I told you that I know her already"
"Hey Spencer" you smiled "And Spencer's friend" you looked at the badge one more time "Or colleague"
"Hey Y/n" his cheeks flushed when you said his name, he looked strangely attractive with the gun at his hip.
"Spence?" Agent Jareau nudged him to speak
"Oh right um" he dropped his hands to his sides and tapped on his thighs "Do you have a copy of Empty Planet by David Hansberry"
"Genre?" you asked
"Science Fiction" his smile could light up the whole room
"It might be upstairs, I'll get it for you" you got up from your seat and quickly walked towards the stairs
As you were looking through the shelves you overheard the conversation downstairs, they did not know how to whisper
"You totally like her" It was Agent Jareaus voice
"Wh-what no" Spencer stuttered out
"Then why did you pick this book store we could have gone to the one Penelope sent the address for, it was closer to us"
"Because this is my favorite book store" his voice was squeaky
"Fine deny it but just know that you are a terrible liar"
"I just found out what her name was like 4 days ago"
"And how long did it take for you to ask" she hummed
"Like 2 months" he muttered
"Well at this rate your first date will be in 2 years" she snickered
"Oh whatever"
You smiled to yourself and found the book he was looking for, you quickly made your way back down the steps and handed him the book.
"How much?" he began to take out his wallet
You stopped him "On me"
"Are you sure"
"Yep" you flashed him and smile and watched how he smiled back at you
"Spence serial killer on the loose let's go" the agent nudged him
"Right, thanks" he spoke before turning around and walked side by side with the other agent
You sat back down and chewed on your bottom lip, how long has he liked you for. You saw each other all the time but never really spoken until the other day
...
"Goodnight Mr.Patterson" you shouted through the hallway that led to his apartment
"Goodnight hun" he shouted back
You turned off all the lights and made sure to lock up the register before stepping out the door. The keys in your hands jiggled as you locked the door.
"Hey" you heard a familiar voice
You turned your head and saw that it was Spencer, your lips tugged at the corners and turned into a smile "Hey"
