Caroline pushed herself from underneath the wolf, confused about why he had let her go. She turned around and started running towards the castle but she would never make it until the next bell. She wouldn’t be able to. Yet she tried, but when she glanced back to the wolf, he was running at her heals. This confused her even more.

The wolf had now swept her off her feet and was taking her towards the castle. She could feel the animals muscles moving, almost as if it was a machine. A machine made too look like a wolf. She latched onto his fur; It felt smooth under her hands. He moved like water, slipping around turns, swift and steady. Like a river gushing, he followed the path. With every step he took, Caroline tossed up into the air a bit, yet it added to the comfort. She could almost feel what the animal under her felt. A sense of urgency and bravery; All his thoughts put together. Caroline rested her head against the wolf's back and shut her eyes.
