Opening the safe i find a usb which is definitely not supposed to be in there and a Manila folder. My intel told me only the folder should be in the safe so that was the first red flag. I shoved the usb into my bra and quickly opened the folder to see the words assassination agency 01/07/14 and a picture of a ring on the first page. The second page was full of code which was not supposed to be there, it was supposed to be frauded documents, I have a photographic memory so i took a mental snapshot of the code and shut the folder.
"It's the room on the right, on my count" i heard coming from outside the room. Jumping onto my feet i switch the folder with a random one I found in a box and shove the new folder into my duffel bag and sprint across the room to the window before the office door was busted open and 16 men with guns file in pointing them at me.
"It's very rude to point a gun at a lady, has no one taught you boys manners" i tutted before grabbing my dagger and slicing the wrist of the man closest towards me and swiping his gun firing 10 kill shots immediately. My aim spot on.
Ducking behind the desk i take a magazine from a dead body and reload the gun one more, all whilst under constant fire, the wood from the desk I'm hiding behind being chipped away with each bullet. I shoot 5 more bullets killing the rest of the men and take 2 more guns tucking them into my waistband before i heard more footsteps coming up the corridor and the sound of someone climbing through the window. I had no choice but to stay and fight.
4 minutes and a whole massacre later and I'm fighting with hand to hand combat with two remaining people before someone jumps through the window and shoots the last two guys in the head.
I was covered in blood splatters and i managed to get sliced lightly in the arm with a shard of glass so some of it was mine, I couldn't feel it with all the adrenaline though.
The person who shot the two agents in the head stood in front of me with a pistol in his right hand, his eyes flickered to the duffel bag on my shoulders "you should make it easier for me darling and just hand them over"
"I have no clue what your talking about" i spoke calmly contrasting my appearance and the state of the room.
Scoffing, his mature yet almost hot, raspy and whiny like voice spoke "this is a dangerous game your playing, i just watched you kill around 30 men lets not pull the innocent card, we all know thats a lie"
He said we. There was either people listening in or people waiting for his command.
At this point we were circling each other the tension in the room suffocating, i pounced at him. Grabbing his wrists and twisting them throwing his pistol across the office as he raised his knee hitting my stomach knocking the air out of me. "That's not very polite"
"And here i though we established that when i killed a small army of trained agents" i spat sarcastically, starting to re-catch my breath.
"I would suggest you don't try something like that again, it would just end with your demise after all" he spoke his eye flickering to the cut on my arm that was starting to bleed more heavily.
"Well perhaps now is a good time to tell you that i don't take orders, never mind suggestions" i hissed as i grabbed my dagger and slammed him across the wall holding the dagger to his throat.
Did i mention how hot he his? He has high cheekbones with long lashes showcasing his eyes. His eyes reminded me of an old barn door, flecks of deep brown married with lighter hues, so much strength remaining despite the years of weathering, so much life. He had thick defined eyebrows with a few beauty marks scattered across his lightly tanned skin.
One of my hands were pressed against the wall at the same level as his ear and the other held the dagger on his neck, pressing down almost hard enough to draw blood.
"Give me one reason why i shouldn't end your pathetic life right now"
His cold and calculated eyes met mine with a look that set off a fire inside of me "oh no you should darling, you have every reason to slit my throat right now, its a shame you just missed out on a once in a lifetime opportunity though" my hand holding the dagger was twisted forcing me to let go as i was harshly pressed up against the wall, i didn't try to struggle and get him to release me, I wouldn't give him that satisfaction.
His lips lightly brushed my ear sending an internal shiver down my spine "you know i expected more to be honest it was a bit of a disappoint" he murmured his hot breath fanning my ear "the legendary Hera who kept on surviving with bullet holes in her lungs and knife marks etched in her back" he paused for a second "rumoured to never have ever let anything get in her way, resilient, a liar, a thief. Utterly without conscience"
The tip of the dagger positioned on my collar bone slowly pressed down just enough to draw blood as i grabbed a paper weight of the desk, spinning around and knocking him out cold with it I patted him down for any sort of identity but i didn't get any.
I grabbed the right file that was hidden in the box, tucked it into my bag safely and left the building, but not before finding a marker and writing 'i win' on the Greek gods forehead. I'm petty like that. I also made sure to take pictures of some of the men and send them to Aleksander to run through an identification program he has.
The men who i was originally attacked by had no markings or identification so my last hope was the facial recognition.
