Rylie cooed and quickly scribbled something in her notepad then threw it at him.
"Nobody is going to miss you, you asshole." Adrian read out loud and wiped a fake tear. "Those are some really sweet words. I'm afraid I'll go into diabetic shock if I read it again."
She made an ugly face and mimicked him.
"Enough!" I shouted. "Today is a really important day for me and I except civility from both of you for at least a few more minutes. Outside this room, go kill each other. I don't mind! But please, for me, try to keep the hate you guys have for each other low. I'd really appreciate it."
Leonardo slapped his elder brother's back really loud. "No offense, brother, but you are a hoe."
He winced. "A lot taken."
Rylie smiled apologetically at me.
"Thank you," I sighed and typed my user ID and password to open my page on the institution's website. "Well, here goes everything." I mumbled to myself, going through my inbox and finally clicking on a link which directed me straight to my results.
I blinked.
"Um, capo?"
"Si, Amy?"
"I never bothered to ask this straight from you. Where exactly did you enroll me?" I left the part where everything and I mean everything was done online. I assumed that he must have had some influence over there.
"Rome. Why?"
"Okay... You think we can go there and see the college I am graduating from?"
Rylie screamed in happiness and pounced on me to give me a big hug.
"Oof! Ouch! Too tight, Ry. Too tight!" I managed a choke of air and laughed in joy.
Education: check.
Hell yeah. I'm gonna get a degree and finally be a graduate.
After a lot of howling, jumping in bed and squealing in joy, I finally managed to straighten myself up and eagerly waited for the brothers to say something, congratulate me or anything.
They kept staring at me with a blank look on their faces. I stopped smiling. What's wrong with them? Then suddenly Adrian turned to his little brother and made the universal sign of asking money.
Hesitantly, Leonardo pulled out his wallet from his pant and gave 200 euros to Adrian, who was now grinning in triumph.
You. Have got to be. Kidding. Me.
"You both made a bet on my education?" I sneered.
"Yep." Adrian said proudly. "The only method to get some money out of my little brother's pocket. Congratulations Amelia, I'll buy you a nice souvenir from Canada with this money or maybe give you a nice treat before I leave."
"I can't believe you made a bet on this!"
He rubbed his ears and grinned mischievously. "No need to shout, my lovely Amy. It was just for some fun. Besides you should be scolding your boyfriend, who is now two hundred euro short on his account. He lost because he thought you wouldn't graduate when you started your course."
My scowl became deeper as my gaze shifted to his brother.
Adrian stood up. "Alright then. That's our cue to leave, signorina Rylie, so why don't we go out and continue our usual bicker banter outside, hmm? Maybe then you could get an opportunity to kill me for good. Do tell me, what kind of weapon would you prefer? I have a really cute cabinet in my closet full of them for your tiny little heart's desire."
