~Third person POV~
"Where is he?" Hailey muttered in an annoyed tone.
"He's probably too busy obsessing over Daisy." Zander smirked.
"Nah, that's Sean's job." Milly teased.
"Milly!" Sean exclaimed, blushing slightly.
"We may as well just start without him." The teal haired girl sighed.
"How about we just wait five more minutes, Hailey?" Luke asked politely, as Hailey could get scary when mad.
"Fine, but that dingus is really starting to get on my nerves."
"Is that why you can't take your eyes off of him?" Zander teased, smirking. Hailey began to blush.
"Shut up Zander!"
There was a few minutes of silence as the club didn't really know what to do, how could they practice without their lead singer?
"So, uh how's life?" Milly said, trying not to laugh at the silence.
"Hailey's must be amazing." Zander replied.
"Why?"
"Because you get to see Jake like everyday."
"I don't like him!"
"Aw, but you two would be adorable together!" Milly squealed.
"I would never date him!"
"Come on guys, we can talk about Hailey's crush on Jake another time, let's just practice without the singing." Luke chuckled.
"Not you too!" Hailey exclaimed.
They all began to walk over to their instruments, when the door burst open.
"I'm here! I'm sorry I'm late!" Jake panted.
"Whatever, just go over there and sing." Hailey said sternly. Zander tried hard not to laugh.
"Why are you so annoyed today, Hailey? Is it because of a certain someone?" Milly smirked, Zander and Sean tried to hide their laughter, while Luke just smiled.
"Can you all just shut up and do something useful for once?" Hailey replied angrily.
"Uh, am I missing something?" Jake asked.
"No! I thought I told you to sing!" Hailey yelled.
"Right, sorry Hailey."
Jake was about to open his mouth to sing when the bell rang, it was the end of practice and they had done nothing...again.
"I guess practice is over, you can go." Hailey sighed. Most of the club ran out of the door before Hailey had another chance to yell at them, but Jake stayed.
"Uh, Hailey?" He muttered.
"Yes?"
"I'm sorry...for always being late."
"I'm used to it by now, it's okay. Is that all?"
"Uh no..can you meet me at the park after school?"
"Why.."
"I need advice..on girls. And you're a girl so..."
"Well spotted."
"So..can you?"
"Yep..I'll be there."
"Thanks princess, have a nice afternoon!" He winked at her.
"I told you to stop calling me that." She responded, walking past him and leaving.
"That girl sure is stubborn." Jake laughed.
~~~~
"Hi guys!" Hailey waved at the club.
"Hey Hailey, you seem to be in a better mood." Luke replied.
"Yeah..I'm just a bit stressed about the band competition that's all."
"Or you're in love~" Milly smirked.
"Why would I be in love with Jake?"
"I didn't say a name.." Milly giggled.
"Shut up! Why would you even ship us?"
"Because you can both sing! Plus, I've seen you blushing around him.."
"That proves nothing!" Hailey quickly replied.
"Oh, look who it is! The music freaks! Nice to see you guys again!" We heard the mocking voice of Drew say.
"Just go, nobody wants you here." Hailey sighed, putting her science book in her yellow locker.
"Bad mood huh?" Drew laughed.
"I thought I told you to leave." Hailey said sternly, slamming her locker door shut.
"Is your girlfriend always this feisty, Jakey?" Henry laughed in a mocking way.
"UGH, WILL EVERYONE JUST STOP WITH THE WHOLE JAKE AND I THING. WE AREN'T DATING AND PROBABLY NEVER WILL BE. JUST USE YOUR DAMN BRAIN FOR ONCE." Hailey yelled, walking away.
"Are you going to go after her Jake?" Drew smirked.
"You know what...maybe I will!" Jake exclaimed, running after Hailey.
~~~~
"Hailey? Where are you?" Jake called.
"Just go away, I wanna be alone."
"Why is it bothering you so much?"
"Because...I don't like you! I don't like anyone! I never get crushes, because I know I will get heartbroken."
"So you're scared of heartbreak?" Jake asked, opening the music room door and sitting next to Hailey.
"I guess..."
"Me too...I guess we finally have something in common." Jake chuckled, Hailey didn't laugh but a smile grew on her face.
"That's one less thing to argue about." Hailey sighed, half laughing.
"I do try and get my friends to stop calling you my girlfriend, you know."
"I know, but they must be pretty stubborn."
"You're quite stubborn yourself." Jake laughed.
"How so?"
"Well, remember last week we were doing warm ups. I told you that you sounded pretty good. You remember what you said?"
"No one asked you." Hailey replied, bursting into laughter.
"Exactly, see my point?" Jake said, beginning to laugh as well.
"Do you still want girl advice?"
"Yeah..I just don't know how to impress a girl. Should I get her a $50 bouquet of flowers?"
"If a girl truly loves you and is the right one, they would be happy with just a single rose." Hailey smiled.
"How do I know if she's the right one?"
"How does she make you feel?"
"I'm not sure.."
"Well...what is she like?"
"She beautiful, kind and loving. I could stare at her eyes for hours and her smile gives me hope."
"She sounds amazing, Jake. I hope she likes you back."
"That's the thing...she doesn't. We bicker all the time, over stupid things."
"Maybe she is just using that as a disguise because she doesn't want to show her true feelings incase you don't feel the same way. Girls do that sometimes, because we are scared. If you don't like us back, it leads to us thinking we aren't good enough. So we try to look prettier, or we try to lose weight..Boys...and girls can be real shitheads at times..but there is someone out there who loves you, someone who will be kind to you and will make you feel like you a princess..or a prince. You just..have to wait and see."
"Wow, who knew you were so smart? Jake laughed, Hailey chuckled.
"I'm sorry that I've been getting angry at you guys..I really don't mean it." Hailey muttered,
"It's okay! You are pretty scary, I'll give you that." Jake chuckled, Hailey burst into laughter.
"You know, it's nice talking to you Jake. I guess you aren't just an annoying asshole."
"Ooh, so you like me now?" Jake winked, Hailey blushed.
"You are delusional! Come on, the others are waiting!"
"Yes, ma'am!" Jake chuckled, following the teal-haired girl out of the music room.
