"My husband thinks so." I deflected the conversation. "What are you doing now?"

"I'm the head of the Domestic Violence division at the State's Attorneys office."

"Wow so you switched from defense to prosecution."

"Better fit. What are you doing now?"

"I was teaching for a bit. Just focused on being a mother and wife now."

"Hm. Well if you want to try out prosecuting, we could use you." He reached into his pocket and handed me his card.

I took it. "Ill talk this over with August and see what he thinks."

"Still with the janitor huh?"

"He's a dentist now. Has his own practice."

"Hm. He came up."

"Yes he did. Umm...we have to go. It was nice talking to you."

"You too. Give me a call about working with my division. Would love to have you."

"Like I said I'll talk it over with my husband."

I grabbed O's hand and we went to pay for the items.

"Mommy you're putting slob all over me." O laughed as Donielle grabbed him into a tight embrace, kissing him all over his face and neck.

She had a room in the clinic that looked like a mini studio apartment. Complete with her own her kitchenette and bathroom.

"Would you be my Valentine mommy?" O asked her, handing her the basket.

"Nah, I already got one." She joked.

"Who?"

"This old man that keeps harassing me that stays down the hall. Look what he got me?" She pulled out a box of half-eaten chocolates. "They came like this he said."

Octavian and I both laughed.

"But I can make an exception for my bae. Thank you sweetie." She hugged him and kissed his forehead.

"You're welcome."

"So you haven't been giving Amb problems have you?"

"No, I've been good."

"Has he?" She looked at me.

"Yes, he's as sweet as he wants to be."

"Good. I don't want to hear anything bad. How's school?"

"Easy." He shrugged.

She laughed at his confidence.

"I had been meaning to talk to you about that Donielle. The teacher suggested a program for him up in Boston that's connected to Harvard. Here's the info." I pulled it out.

"She said they'd also provide housing for you guys if you need it."

She looked it over.

"I never thought about moving."

"I think it'll be a good change for you guys after you get out. It may be just what you need to get back on track."

"Hm. What you think about moving to Boston O?"

"I don't want to leave Sata. She'll never forgive me."

"O you can't worry about what Sata thinks." I told him.

"She's my bestfriend though Auntie Amb."

"I know baby. But when opportunity comes you got to go." I told him.
