Chapter 4: Reflection

Lance managed to get access to the Altean library since only alteans could enter. He looks through the bookshelves and finds the history session, pulling out one of the books known as a photo album of the Altean royal family. He looks through the pictures and saw one of the pictures including him as a 2-year-old with Allura in her 16's holding him. He looks through some more and saw himself as a baby holding a blue lion Allura gave him. Lance was about to tear up missing those days he has been with his sister. Suddenly, he heard a sound came out of nowhere. The library was old, clean, and quiet so he could hear something familiar. He followed the sound where it comes from, and he stopped by a big statue in the middle of the library. The statue was a female Altean, holding an ancient jar with droplets where the sound comes from. 'How am I gonna make this work?' Lance thought when he saw the statue's chest has a missing piece; a heart, that's when Lance realizes his necklace his father gave him. He pulled it out of his jacket and looks at the picture inside the locket. Lance smiled at the moment before he uses his wand to transfer the necklace to the chest of the statue. When he places it, the floor from the statue started glowing blue as the water from the jar started flowing down to the pond where the water is, and constellations swirling around. Lance smiled when he did it as the mice came out of nowhere near the statue fountain. As Lance was about to greet them, he suddenly hears a door open at the northern side of the library. Both Lance and the mice followed the sound, and they found another room. When they entered, it turns out to be a moon-themed private bedroom. Constellations hanging above, more books on the 3 bookshelves around the whole room with a desk next to them. Lance noticed a pair of clothes on the bed next to the window with a note. He opened the note and reads:

Ainar, my son,

If you're reading this, then that means that I'm gone alongside Altea. I know you are devastated to know this, but you must understand. You have to tell Allura and your friends about yourself when you are ready. And don't worry about your family from the planet you've crashed, because I made a message for them so they could raise you safely. If you read this to the very end, I just wanna say, I love you, my star.

Lance suddenly started crying when he read the note then he collapsed to the ground as the mice went after him. Lance wiped his tears then reading it again before he looks to the window next to the bed before he places his head on it as the castle is starting to low it's temperature from the inside out.

"Look at me
You may think you see
Who I really am
But you'll never know me
Every day
It's as if I play a part..."

Lance stood up from his bed and walks towards the desk wiping the dust off.

"Now I see
If I wear a mask
I can fool the world
But I cannot fool my heart..."

All the books from the bedroom's bookshelves started floating around with blue magic.

"Who is that girl I see
Staring straight back at me?
When will my reflection show
Who I am inside?"

All of the papers from the shelves started to float as Lance looks directly at the picture of the royal family; the family in blue Alfor, Melenor, Young Allura, Baby Ainar, and a man in a green suit. He has grey hair, glasses, teal markings, and green pupils.

"I am now
In a world where I
Have to hide my heart
And what I believe in..."

Lance places all the books and papers back on their shelves as he walks out of the private room with Blanca and the mice followed him.
