~Chapter 24: Confronting My Dad~

When me & Benny got to my house, we saw my dad always in the driveway, getting our of the car.

"Oh shit...", I muttered under my breath.

"Ari, is that your dad?", Benny asked me.

"Yeah it is. My mom never told me that he would be back today.", I said shaking a little cause I was getting nervous.

"Hey hey, it's okay babe. I'm sure your dad ain't that bad. I also hope that you won't get into too much trouble.", he chuckled.

"Yeah, I hope so too. Come on, let's go.", I said grabbing his hand.

Me & Benny walked over to greet my dad.

"Hi daddy.", I said hugging my dad.

"Hi sweetheart. How are you doing?", he said hugging me back.

"I'm doing good. I see that you're back from your business trip already."

"Yup. It was really busy over there where I was. Who's this boy right here with you?", my dad asked.

"Oh, right. I had already told mom this. But dad, this is my boyfriend Benjamin. But everyone calls him Benny for short.", I said still kinda nervous.

"Oh really, you never told me this?", he said looking concerned, but was playing around.

"I was gonna tell you, but you left for that business trip unexpectedly.", I laughed.

"Yeah I know, I'm joking.", he said. He then shook Benny's hand & Benny shook his.

"Hello Benny. Very nice to meet you sir. I hope you've been taking care of my daughter.", my dad said.

"Hi Mr. Garza. It's a great pleasure to finally meet you. And of course I'll take care of her for you.", Benny chuckled.

"Good, you better.", my dad chuckled.

"Also dad, I need to tell you something and I hope you won't get really mad at me.", I said getting nervous.

"What is it Ari?"

"Well, you know that Babe Ruth baseball that you have in your office? Well I grabbed it one day so me and my friends could play baseball because Benny accidentally busted our ball and we didn't have any money. It then went over a fence and a big dog chewed it up. Benny has it in his pocket.", I explained to him.

Benny have my dad the old ball & my dad looked at the ball & then us in disappointment.

"Ari, why would you do this? You know this ball meant so much to me.", my dad said in disappointment.

"I know it did dad, but I just didn't wanna ruin a whole day for us.", I said feeling like I wanted to cry. My dad pulled me in for a hug.

"It's okay sweetie. But you should've asked your mom for money. Do that next time okay, don't take stuff without asking."

"I know dad. But, we ended up getting a new ball.", I said pulling it out of my pocket giving it to my dad.

"This ball right here is signed by all the 1927 Yankees, even Babe Ruth."

"Wow. I love it Ari, thank you. But we're gonna have to discuss your punishment inside. Don't worry, it won't be that big of one."

"Yeah, I know dad."

...

"Well uh, I think I better go cause I don't want my parents waiting on me for dinner. They usually start making dinner around this time.", Benny said.

"Well then goodbye Benny.", my dad waved at Benny & then walked inside the house.

"Well that kinda turned out better than I expected.", I chuckled.

"It could've been worse.", he laughed.

He put his arms around my waist & I put my arms around his neck. He then leaned in and kissed me. We kissed for a few minutes & pulled away, smiling at each other like idiots.

"Well okay then, I'll see you later babygirl. I love you.", he said as he kissed my cheek & walked off.

"Bye baby, I love you too.", I giggled. I then went inside my house. Well all that turned out not to be bad as I expected.
