(Plantation 13-3rd Pov)

It was morning. Y/n and Ichigo woke up and felt a little bit embarrassed at their position when they woke up. The whole squad bathed and went to the mission room. 

Nana: Y/n would you care to demonstrate how to pilot a franxx?

Y/n: I would rather not. Besides the designs of my franxx is different from a standard franxx

Nana: How so?

Y/n: Well for one If the robot sustains damage I would experience it but not vice versa. Two, if I have a partner, both of us controls the robot so our movements will always be in sync.

Nana: Interesting. Well then, looks like you have to connect with a guide

The connection was a success. Y/n looked out the window and see Hiro standing there. looking up at the Franxx. It's been a while since Y/n saw sim. Y/n thought he would be a little bit cheerful but no, he's still emotionless. After the piloting was a success, Y/n was waiting for them at the Franxx Dock. The Franxx' docked and the people who controlled them got out. Y/n then ran up to Ichigo and hugged her.

Y/n: You did great

Ichigo: Not as great as you

Y/n: I'll be waiting for that day then. I'll be waiting at the dorm

Ichigo: Okay

He then left them to themselves not knowing some were talking about him.

Ikuno: Hey Ichigo, does he have a partner?

Ichigo: No, no he does not

Ikuno: Is that even-

A girl cuts her off.

Zero two: It's possible but it puts you in a mental strain and unimaginable pain.

Ikuno: And how do you know that?

Zero Two: I've been there. Not having a partner I mean.

She then hastily walks off leaving them to themselves.

Ichigo: Nevermind her, let's go to the locker rooms and change.

(Timeskip)

(Squad 13 Dorm-Y/n POV)

It has been a few hours after that. Ichigo and I were at the front of the dorm waiting for Hiro. He apparently went off to the bird he found and buried it if my memory serves me right. Ichigo was playing with a cat that was enjoying her playful antics. I was leaning on one of the pillars.

 I saw Hiro in the distance. He was walking towards us with his poker face. He was looking towards the ground and must've heard Ichigo's voice when she was with the cat because when he looked up, he was a bit confused about who I was. I stop leaning on the pillar and gave Ichigo a small head pat. She was confused for a bit until I pointed towards Hiro and she got the message

Ichigo: H-Hiro!

Hiro: Please don't tell me that you've been waiting for me

Ichigo: I was, you shouldn't run off like that first thing in the morning. I know it may be a little bit awkward but this is your home now, you should try to settle in.

I walk towards Hiro and whisper "The bird you buried will be pleased that you buried it" He looks at me a little bit shocked at how I knew that. He was about o question me but was interrupted by Goro

Goro: You guys need to get in here, that weird girl is in our mess hall

I smile on the inside, eager to see what will happen. While Hiro was displaying a glad expression.
