i cant believe i forgot this

so in my previous chapter about how ya'll need to give Elena a break, I also said that if she had never met the Salvatores she would have died in the sacrifice either way, right?

you know the gist of it, Katherine would of discovered her doppelgänger via Isobel when Isobel found Katherine and saw she was identical to Elena

in the process, Katherine would fake wanting to protect Elena when in reality she would bring in Klaus to take her so she could finally be free of him and Elena would've eventually died in the sacrifice regardless if Elijah made it known to her or kept her out of it completely

that's what i established, right?

well, i realized i was wrong!

Elena would've already been dead.

We all know how Elena's parents died right? Off Wickery Bridge and into the lake, well Elena would've drowned in that lake too if it weren't for Stefan.

boom!

so yeah Katherine already knew Elena was around as she was collecting Klaus' ingredients, with Mason Lockwood and getting Lucy Bennett, not to mention staying in hiding, imagine when she hears that Elena drowned in the lake, she would've lost her big chance, damn, so in other words I guess we ought to say thanks Stefan.
