"Good god, are you alright?" he said once the door had shut, "please, sit down..." he said motioning to the table like a bed that had a sheet of paper covering it.

"I could be better..." I said as I could feel the side of my head pounding causing my vision to go in and out of focus.

"Would it be alright if I took that off for you?" he said, gesturing to the bandana around my forearm, I nod in agreement to which he sat down on a rolling stool and sat in front of me. With gloved hands, he gingerly untied the bandana to reveal a cut that ran up and down the length of my forearm.

"Would you like to keep this?"

"No please," I say looking at the bloodied piece of fabric in disgust, "throw it away..." he smiles and nods and throws it into one of the special wastebaskets that hung from the wall.

"I'm Dr. Kim by the way," he said as he pushed himself and the stool away to rummage through the various drawers for supplies, "what's your name?"

"I'm Y/n"

"Y/n, if you don't mind me asking, I need to know so that I can help you to the best of my abilities, where did you get all of your injuries?" he asked examining all the wounds that were visible. I could feel my hands start to shake and my breathing become irregular as soon as I tried to wrap my head around what had happened before I got to Hoseoks'.

"I-"

Hoseoks' POV

I followed the woman to the front of the building to a few seats that sat near the reception office. She sits down and motions for me to do the same.

"Young man," her tone was serious and stern, "you don't look like the type of person to hurt someone else like this, but I need to know what happened in case I need to call the authorities." I sat up straight and look at my hands and then at her.

"I don't know the full story, but Y/n came to me this morning with a bag of her stuff looking like that, and saying that they needed a doctor. When I asked them what happened they mentioned that their dad had been drinking," I could see that this information made the woman visibly uncomfortable. She probably didn't know what to do or now had a vendetta against a man she knew close to nothing about. "and I don't think they've been able to get any sleep yet last night, we were at a dance program for our studio last night and talked about a job offer they had gotten over dessert afterward so we were out pretty late." I add quietly as I reason the time they probably got home, the time it takes to walk between our houses, and the time they showed up at my window.

"Ah I see," she said curtly before standing up and brushing out the wrinkles in her skirt, "and do you know if this something that happens often?"

"I think that abuse is probably a common thing that they suffer whenever their dad drink... except they never really go into detail about it so I never know how to bring it up to them." I feel as though a weight was on my shoulders as I feel the gravity of that statement begin to sink in.

"This is a rough situation to be in, especially at your age," she said coming up next to me and putting a hand on your shoulder, "there's not much you would have been able to except to just be there for them and telling someone who can help them." I look up to her as she takes her and off my shoulder and walking towards the desk.

"And you did," she said grabbing papers and a pen, "you were able to get them to us, and tell me, and her injuries are enough evidence to prove that something was not right enough in the home and our clinic will be able to take all the necessary actions to make sure their father won't come near them again," she said sitting down and started writing and filling in the papers, and began flipping between typing on a computer and writing.

For a moment after us sitting in silence she looks up from her work and up to me, "You seem like you can use some more sleep, it may be a while before the doctor is done dressing your friend's wounds."

"Thank you, I think I will." I gave her a smile before looking around the room and seeing a much comfier-looking couch and moved there instead. I sat on the far end against the armrest and propped my head up with my hand. I could still hear the sound of keys typing by the time I had finally dozed off.

Timeskip brought to you by the powers of me not knowing how to put this into an entirely new chapter and making this one hella long and a bit boring

By the time I had woken up, it seemed at least a couple of hours had passed by the sun seemed brighter and the air felt warmer. My eyes were still only half-open, but while looking around I could see Y/n talking with the doctor, the woman from the front desk, and a police officer.

I quickly jolt upwards and rush over to be by Y/n side nearly tripping on my way over to them as my vision was still hazy from the sleep I come up from behind her and lightly tap them on the shoulder, trying to be careful about not scaring them

They quickly turn around and by the look on their face I still managed to scare them a bit, but their look of fear quickly turns to relief and finally sadness. They had a sling over their right arm and bandages all around their face and it seemed like the rest of their body. I open my arms for a hug, and they cautiously inch their way closer to me and then finally collapse into my arms, wrapping their free arm around my neck.

I could feel their tears begin to soak in small patches in my hoodie. I held them as they shook and silently sobbed. I wrapped my arms around them, while the adults left us for a moment of privacy. rested my head on their shoulder, letting a few of my own tears fall. I felt stressed, worried, confused, and exhausted. I could barely imagine how Y/n is feeling at this moment. I held them until they lifted their head which caused me to pull away a little to be able to look them in the eye easier.

Once the adults could see that we were done having our moment, the woman from the desk came back over to us.

"You two can leave if you'd like," she looked back at the other two men who were standing and talking to each other by the front desk, "I think we have everything covered here." She gave us a small smile, Y/n and I looked at each other and back to the adults.

"Thank you for all your help today," I said, and with that, the both of us were out the door and out of the clinic.

Y/n POV

When we stepped outside the sun was much higher in the sky and the air felt light and warm, I could feel a cool breeze wafting through. I looked over to Hobi, I could see bags under his still partially teary eyes. There was silence between us, neither of us really knowing what to do or what to say.

"They called the police while you were asleep," I say while looking at the cloudless sky, "they sent several to my house and one here to talk with me. They're charging him with child endangerment and abuse..." I say monotonously, shoving my free hand into my pocket.

"It'll land him quite a few years in prison so I won't see him for a while."

"That's great but," Hoseok said looking at me with a concerned face, one that he's been wearing since I showed up at his house, "what are you gonna do for then? Like for school and everything?" I take a moment to think about this, I look to the ground for some form of consultation, though obviously, it wouldn't give me any.

"I think I'm gonna take that job at BigHit, they said school and roof over my head could be provided, I think that'll be my best bet." I turn to him and wrap my arms around him one more time.

"I'm sorry I dragged you into this," I say solemnly, "I didn't for everything to wind up this way... Thank you for staying with me here." I could feel him take a deep breath.

"I wouldn't just leave you on the ground to bleed out under my window you know," I laugh a little and pull away from his arms.

"What should we do now?" I ask him not knowing what the next step in this situation would be.

"I'm still tired," he put his hands in his pockets, and looked around, "how about we go back to my house and sleep, and we can make that call to that company." I smile at him and look at the sky once more.

"I like the sound of that," I say before yawning, and with that, we were off to his house going back the way we came.
