"I'm sorry to leave you behind, (Y/N). You and Douma take care of each other for us, alright?" you heard your mother's voice exclaimed as you opened your eyes.

You looked around and found yourself back at your home. You saw Douma looking at you in worry, his golden lotus designed fans were opened and were covering the bottom half of his face. "I'm alright Douma-kun." you reassured with a soft smile. Douma gave you a close eyed smile and a head pat, you saw his nails were longer and was a pale blue color.

You blushed at the gesture but noticed something hanging around his neck. "Douma-kun, what's that around your neck?" you asked. Douma blinked twice before slowly removing his fan away from his face. A bamboo muzzle was in between his mouth as a red ribbon was tied to it and wrapped around his neck as support.

'Where did he get a muzzle?' you thought as you heard footsteps getting closer towards you both. "You have awaken. You passed out from exhaustion earlier so your friend had to carry you back here." Urokodaki exclaimed. "I have already buried your family. We must get to Mt. Sagiri while the sun is still out but your friend will be having some trouble." He added as you and Douma looked at him confused.

"Your friend will burn and die if he is exposed to sunlight. That is one of a demon's weakness." Urokodaki explained. "I'll find something I can use so that Douma-kun won't get exposed." you determinedly said as you stood up and began to look around your home.

You saw the basket full of wood you dropped when you came back earlier. You felt a pain in your heart when you remembered the image of your family's corpse while blood pooled around their bodies.

"Please don't blame yourself Nee-san."

"It wasn't your fault."

You heard your siblings voices as you looked around in hopes of finding them but they weren't there. "I'm sorry Akira, Kai. I wasn't able to do my promise with you." you whispered out.

You felt something warm touching both of your hands. Kai and Akira held a sad smile as they held your hands on both sides. "It's alright Nee-san." Kai stated. "Ne, ne, promise us this instead. Save Douma-nii and confess your feelings, alright? We always love you Nee-san, don't forget that." Akira said as she and Kai began to fade. A single tear rolled down your face as the warmth from your hands disappeared. "I'll find a way to save you, Douma." you muttered out.

You picked up the basket and removed the wood, stacking it neatly beside you as you made sure the basket doesn't have any more wood. 'This basket will be easy for me to carry Douma.' you thought as you went to where Douma and Urokodaki were waiting.

"Douma-kun! I found a basket to carry you, think you can fit inside it?" you asked as you showed Douma the basket. Douma went inside head first but the basket stopped at his chest, making him and the basket move forward. 'Ahh I'm so stupid! Douma-kun is taller and muscular that's why he can't fit inside.' you internally scolded yourself.

You heard Douma let out a grunt as he pushed the basket up right with him falling inside easily. This shocked you as you noticed his clothes are still the same size but Douma is now the size of a child. "Wahh that's amazing Douma-kun! You look adorable!" you cooed as you gave him a head pat making him hum in satisfaction. Urokodaki watched the scene unfold in front of him with amusement.

"Ah something seems to be missing though." you pondered as you made a snapping sound with your fingers. You quickly look around and found the item you were looking for. "There! Now that completes you Douma-kun!." you complimented as you placed Douma's hat on top of his head. Douma's face flushed red at your compliment as he hummed in thanks.

Douma handed you your haori as you thanked him and put it on. "Mt. Sagiri is north from here. I have to run an errand but I will see you both there." Urokodaki exclaimed as he quickly disappeared. You grabbed your axe in case of trouble and looked back at Douma. He was fanning himself as he wore a happy smile. You took a spare blanket from your room as you went towards Douma.

"Douma-kun, I'll wrap the blanket around the basket so you won't be exposed alright?" you said to which he nodded. You covered the whole basket with the blanket as you finished tying it so that it won't fall when you walk or run. You gently picked up the basket and placed the straps on your shoulders. "We're going now Douma-kun." you stated and you heard some muffled hums.

You looked back towards your home with a sad smile. You let out a sigh and faced forward with a determined look as you began to walk down the mountain to head to Mt. Sagiri.
