I work at our café sometimes, I'm doing it willingly to help mom and dad. It's not just them who's gaining something out from the profit of that business, I'm benefiting out from it as well. They're still supporting me, somehow. I can support myself without them but they wouldn't let me live alone without anyone.

Here in Japan, those teenagers who are the same age as me are already working part-time. It may be in a café as a waiter or a waitress, helpers, and any other job opportunities so they can earn to support themselves and survive in their own. In my case, my foster parents doesn't follow their culture.

They prefer to let me stay here with them, that's the reason why I'm working at our café as a waiter. Ever since I started living with them, they've been overprotective towards me. I used to have a curfew but then one day, they told me that I no longer have to follow that set up.

They're letting me stay up all night, go out, enjoy my teenage years and have fun with Akina and Cedric though I just have to make sure that I'm hanging out with them and not with the bad influencers, it's not like I have a lot of friends around me. I only have two, at least.

The sun is about to rise, and I'm still fully awake. I just finished a new chapter and I already published it online so my readers can enjoy my update, I just killed a character but he's just a random person so they wouldn't really hate me for that one.

I was busy massaging my temple then out of the blue, I heard my cellphone rang loudly. My ringtone is loud enough to wake my parents up this early, I didn't want to disturb them so I answered the phone and took my earphones before I spoke.

It's Cedric who called me.

Cedric: Dude?! Nasaan ka na?!

Ako: What do you want?

Cedric: May pupuntahan pa kase tayo diba?

Ako: Saan naman?

Cedric: Dude, it's your birthday today! Have you forgotten?!!

Ako: Huh? Ano bang araw ngayon?

I knew I already asked him but I took out the calendar and checked it myself that he's not mistaken. He's right, it's my birthday today. It's twenty-fifth of July, year two thousand and twenty. I just turned eighteen, I officially reached my legal age.

Cedric: Happy birthday dude!
